90 SECOND REVIEW - Vittoria Ziffiro Pro Home Trainer Tire

A short and to the point review of a popular training tire for wheel-on indoor bicycle trainers like the Wahoo Kickr Snap. I originally bought this tire to avoid wearing out my road tires, however, it also made my indoor trainer quieter. Please note that the wheelset, green tire irons, and pump that are pictured in the opening sequence are not included when you buy the tire but are useful for changing the tire...of which I have done A BUNCH. I don't mention it in the video, but putting on the Vittoria training tire is not very difficult. My road tire, unfortunately, is a different story.

Trainer tire + wheel is a better option for me. I am not going to change my tire every time i switch from outside to inside.

I like my Vittoria trainer tire just fine. I hope you're riding that road bike off road enough to justify those Marathon Pro tires! That's like putting nobbies on a sports car. :>

So I have a AT-650 bontrager rim and I have a 29x2.0 tire on there right now. Can I use a 700x23c Trainer tire on there?

Hi, may I ask what tube pressure you apply? I have the same tyre and got the inner tube bursting twice within one week. I had around 110 psi, is it too high?

I use 100 psi for this tire size and check it before every ride. Strange to burst it so often, almost sounds like it is being pinched between your tire and wheel or maybe the tire has somerhing inside it

I got two flats on my trainer rear tire in short order. I discovered that I'd forgotten to install rim tape. My bad. No, I didn't notice that while changing the first flat.

I have a 2022 specialized rock hopper 29ner. I want to get a tire for the indoor trainer I have. I know I know the 700 because my tire is a 29ner. My rim is 25mm. Which tire do I need ? This is the tire I'm looking to buy is the Vittoria Zaffiro Pro Home Trainer Tire (Red) (Folding) Do I need the 23 or 35 ?

In case you're still wondering...been a year. If your 29r has normally wide mntn bike rims then you'll def want the 25. A 23 probably wouldn't do well on 25mm internal width wheels. JMO

What`s the diff if you don`t apply 2 full 360 degree turns. What if you use it when it touches to the trainer.

Half the time i dont even count the turns, I ust get the wheel to make solid contact. If it is too loose then it might slip when you are at low cadence and high wattage. 2 turns is to be consistent to aid in calibration and accuracy of power reading

@@socalgravel Thanks for quick reply. Does it affect power if it`s not two knob but let`s say only 1/4th the knob. As i said barely touching the tyre and tyre is not slipping?

@@ackack8752 Although common sense dictates otherwise, little contact will generate more heat and tire wear. This is because the tire will slip more, as he responded, generating more friction. The ideal is to maintain a good contact without exaggeration. Refer to your roller manual.
