In the Brooklands Trophy at the Goodwood Revival in 2005 the cars were not only stunning, but historic and rare. As the race reached its conclusion this battle broke out between a stunning Alfa Romeo P3 from the 1930s and Duncan Ricketts' awesome little Riley. The battle went right the way to the line, with Ricketts closing right in on the bigger Alfa, but could he pass?
The Goodwood Revival takes a break in 2020, ready to return in 2021, but we will have racing at Goodwood this year, with the first, and only ever, Goodwood SpeedWeek presented by Mastercard taking place in October. Yes absolutely, but I can never afford it. Even racing an Argentinian Pur Sang re-creation is out of my budget and I make good money.

Racing doesn't have to be at 200 mph. It just needs to be exciting.

i think a famous racing driver once said: "if you want to go fast then buy an airplane ticket, you and about 400 other ppl will be going 500mph and you'll be completely safe and bored.. if you want excitement try driving a slow car (like a Model T) on a highway or freeway at the speed limit.."

I don't drive IRL, just in video games. But i constantly have this argument with people who only drive the modern hyper cars in say Forza Horizon when I say my absolute favorite is my rally-configured (still FWD and based on the original engine) mini. It is so SO much more fun to drive than any of the super-traction 300mph cars.

@@halohunter5217 That's because in a bog standard car you can get to the cars limits at much lower speed, it then becomes your skill to keep the car tidy and on line, not eleventeen computers on three high speed canbuses deciding if releasing the front left brake 10% and winding down the smart alternator output voltage will correct the yaw rate.

this keeps me on the edge of my seat just as moto-GP racing does. much more so than modern Grand Prix or endurance racing does, and certainly more than F1 or NASCAR. what absolute beautiful machines, doing absolutely daring maneuvers going around tracks at absolutely nerve wracking speeds.

Love the oldschool layout of Goodwood! In all those years, it has almost undergone no modifications.. the only exception is the chicane at the front straight.

These fights are way, WAY more entertaining to the audience than current F1 races. You can feel and HEAR the struggle, the eagerness to cut every inch of distance in the lead. This is QUALITY RACING.

This is incredible. I am building a 1928 Morgan RIP GN Special and then an MG Magnette Tipo F with a four cylinder with a supercharger , Boat tail, and dual wheels in the back. We do not have anything like this here in the States.
