Thank you for the comment! You might be right. Well, for one, I took most of them from NTA2 shows myself. Now, as some of these shows were syndicated in the 90s, the ads were updated in the re-runs, but the actual file or format remained intact when they were archived. Now, the Close-Up does seem older, but I will draw your attention to a Close-Up ad that was aired sometime between '84 and '86: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/pLmDh5mDsKybkps.html The price for a standard size tube of toothpaste was 75kobo. Here, the price is 2 Naira, 70 kobo. This makes sense for the post-Babangida 90s inflation. Who knows? The ad could've been rerun with the final frame - the one showing the price - updated. This was not uncommon at all. Both the Close-Up and Joy ads are in fact remakes of previous popular ads. Now, the Joy ad, which is an update to the one Patti Boulaye starred in in the 70s, I took from a 1991 show. Yes, you're right, this indeed ran in the 80s but I wouldn't be surprised if it made it to '91. Similar case of updated price frame? Mind you, I could be completely wrong, if I am strongly opposed, I will trim both ads from this compilation. I'll let others express their opinions on this as well. [I'll pin your comment for that purpose]. While I do research and crosscheck dates and prices, dealing with Nigeria, I find our record-keeping interest wanting. I will hold off on the third installment of this 90s Commercials compilations to make sure I have triple-checked each ad featured there. Many thanks again.
