#92 Rare Williams TAXI Pinball Machine featuring Marilyn Monroe! About 200 made! TNT Amusements

Hard to find these days in nice condition, this MARILYN MONROE version was one of around 200 made before Williams discovered that Marilyn is copyrighted! So new artwork for backglass, playfield and plastics changed her to "LOLA", a brunette! But take a look at this beautiful example of a neat collectible machine with Todd Tuckey your host from TNT Amusements!

My grandpa had one of these growing and I’ve had the sound snippets in my memory all these years! Such a cool pinball machine

We buy the paint in many colors from Joanne Fabrics or Michaels (a similar store) that sell paints in tubes and bottles. Our guy mixes the paints as there are so many different colors, and uses all sizes of brushes. Once game is painted, a clear coat on top to seal the paint. Playfield gets a layer of clear mylar so new paint does not wear off!

I always enjoy playing this one. I haven't seen a Marilyn in the wild though. There are a handful of these on location in Pittsburgh.

I'm playing that machine on mame right now and it's the one with Marilyn Monroe in it lol ! There is definitely something messed up with that sound board! When you get pinbot it is supposed to do a sound wave from the pinbot table ,when you pick up Santa it is supposed to do a Santa Claus is coming to town sound wave, I would replace that board before you give it to your customer!

Oh man, I used to play this when I was a kid, as well as Secret Service and Terminator 2 pinball machines that you have also reviewed. The Taxi had some issues and broke down quite often so an error message in German displayed on the dot matrix display, something like 'justage fehler', was a common sight, making the video arcade clerk curse it ;). Thanks for bringing back the memories :)).

"Adjustment Failure"....meaning the AA batteries were dead...or the battery holder was damaged with leaking battery acid!!!

I think this machine only had alphanumeric display on it, dot matrix didn't come out until about 1990!

It IS a tight fit putting my translite back into my Marilyn Table too. Strange. Having a tough time finding the pcb light board that goes under the taxi sign.

Was noticing that too. Must be something wrong with the sound board on this unit because all of the sound effects are confused with each other.

The easiest answer is whatever people will pay for it. I'd say that due to the rarity, it's probably commands about 4500-5000 depending on overall condition.
