Was your grandfather a member of the 922nd EAR? I'd be interested in discussing his service. My grandfather was the 922nd EAR CO from April until August 1944.

I thought that was Ernie Pyle getting a medal until I saw the Tech Sgt stripes.

"Tec4" is short for Technician Grade 4 (same pay grade as a sergerant) and they were in many different units. Do you have an idea what your grandfather did during the war?

What were they equal to a forward observation officer ,or like they generate smoke machines .same as CBs in the navy construction battalion.

Not really sure what you are asking but the Tec4 rank was given to men with specialized skills. Most operated the heavy machinery.

he fought in italy alot....fought in africa...germany....and all of europe almost so maby you can explane further

wll im not sure if its a british army or not my grandpa was in the US army TEC4
