Great video! Any reason to use alcohol for cleaning? I would think alcohol is more a degreaser and here scaling is often the issue I would assume, so I would use a (diluted) vinegar solution (of course rinse well to prevent corrosion on the long term due to use of acid).

Nice video, not all mixer taps are the same as the one you have worked on. Mine doesn’t have that removable red button rather , has a lever that screws into the main body and is now impossible to remove for the purpose of maintenance required in your video. I have tried injecting things like Calgon, & wd40, but still won’t budge ! What else could I try without calling out a plumber ?

A useful video - thanks! All these small things like things that creak, squeak, scrape or don't move well make a big difference in the quality feel of a home - and it is too often overlooked, or people are scared to try fixing it. Many of these things can work like new again with just disassembly, cleaning and correct lubrication. And if you are scared that you won't know how to put it together again - just take a bunch of pictures while disassembling. That way you can do it in reverse if you get stuck somewhere.
