That sounds like a fantastic Father's Day present! You truly understand men. Skip the neck tie and get him some nice new mufflers. I went with "Glasspack" style mufflers because they are cheap ($25 each), offer good performance, and sound nice. I also gained about 3 mpg average from swapping out the old mufflers. I bought the longest glasspack "Thrush" had in a 2 inch inlet/outlet diameter. You will need to buy two of them. The part # is 289-24204. Let me know if you have any more questions.

Hi Ronnie. That sounds like one cool truck. The only brand I have used was Thrush. They have lots of different sizes. Smaller the louder but possibly raspier. Longer and wider is deeper and smoother. I bought mine at autozone but Jegs or Summit Racing is good too. They cost about 25 bucks.

I had a '94 that had that plastic intake manifold. :/ Killed that fucker, though. It burned oil faster than I could put it in and eventually I just drove it until it gave up. 218-thousand miles is a good stopping point, right?

just go to autozone,for around 25 bucks with tax for one muffler,about 53 for two..you can't beat the sound for the money...

If you still use this account, how long did your town car end up lasting ya? I just bought a 1992 Carter with 83k miles about 5 or 6 months ago, put close to 7k miles on it so far. Debating putting some exhaust on it, but I don't want it 'loud'. Just want it a little throaty with a nice rumble when you get into the rpms. This sound good but it a little louder than I'd prefer for mine. Any suggestions welcomed!
