Especially not up side down. Like the guy I got the bike of off. He really did not know what he was doing.

I agree check the Haynes manual I'm sure it's meant to be 7 clicks out when you put it back in.

@@HalfdeadRider I dont have a manual, but for one the chain should tennion its self. When I got the bike it was all in parts and someone who has no idea what he was doing installed it up side down. As to the clicks, it depends on how old the timing chain is, if its new its a different story. Also it does depend on the modell. This is a ZX900B.

@@Iamtoookool You'd be surprised how little wear the timing chains tend to get. On relatively low mileage bikes like mine that are still under 20k miles, it will be like new, they rarely need changing, even on higher mileage bikes. The only reason I watched was because I was/am considering fitting a manual CCT at some point, due to the constant tension they give through the rev range. You then won't have the chance of bent valves due to the chain loosening and jumping teeth at high rpm's, this can happen with an auto tensioner, and auto tensioners are more prone to failure.
