96 ford ranger four wheeling

In this video we see the return of the black Ford Ranger. It was great day for wheeling and we jump in many mud holes and the Ranger got stuck for the first time. But all in all the little truck did great until the front drive shaft let lose, but even after the drive shaft let lose he drove it out in two wheel drive. The Ranger is a 96 4.0v6 ohv, 5 speed trans., danna 30 front out of a jeep with a custom 3 link and a arb locker, the rear is a 8.8 with a Detroit locker, and running 33 12.5 BFGs....THANKS FOR WATCHNIG....

I can believe the front DS broke and not the D30 lmao....chaulk it up to luck. Sweet 3 link btw and it's nice to see someone actually thrash their ranger.!!!!

the way to get that sound is do away with catylitic converter and run straight pipe to muffler.

Nice truck. What did you do on the engine? Sounds great. I have a '97 4.0 and doesn't sound like that.

How big were your tires and what was your gearing. I have a 94 just like it but I'm not sure if I have enough gear to turn 33s

gotta love the rangers, i have a 95 almost identical, save the extended cab. I don;t know why but that thing is a serious tank when i take her to the trails. I am curious though, what made you decide on a d30? I know most go for the d44 solid swap, plus isn't the stock d35 ttb a stronger axle anyways?

I like the wheelbase on the single cab as well ! I think it's more agile in situations like mud or snow !

I think its a 4.10, its my friends so not sure, but I think a 3.73 would work fine for 33s

+Nazimelon That model ranger comes with 160HP at the flywheel and about 220lb of torque

Tribalsurf83 Depends if it's a 2.3 or a 4.0 OHV. This sounds like a 2.3 so I'm guessing 110 hp sounds about right.

That sounds nothing like a 2.3... I drive a 2.3 daily with cut off exhaust. That is a 4.0 SOHC
