Thank you so much for this. I have been able to forgive my ex-spouse for the narcissistic abuse heaped on me over 24 years, and I finally left. God has enabled me to forgive him and I'm thankful for that. I understand that by forgiving it doesn't void his abusive behavior...I have simply released him from "owing" me anything at this point. That is ultimately between him and God, who is the Righteous Judge. I have peace in my forgiveness of him. The Lord bless you and your work for Him.

Trust is not a prerequisite on wanting to help the other person, at the end of the day your spouse would be another brother in Christ in light of eternity. But trust granted in the span of a year rly isn’t plausible
