Meet my 96-year-old grandfather! Every day he heads out into his small garage shop and makes crosses, birdhouses, wood toys, foot stools and whatever else inspires him in the moment. To date he's made over 11,000 pocket crosses that have been distributed all over the world by his church, friends and family. He is my single greatest source of inspiration and is the kindest, warmest person you’ll ever meet. He has helped me appreciate life and is living proof that as long as you have a purpose and surrounded by loved ones you will find happiness.
One of the many things I love about Grandpa Picciuto is there’s an open invitation every Sunday morning in his tiny kitchen where friends and family gather to drink “Coffee Royals” which is a tasty blend of black coffee and whiskey!
I hope everyone who watches my videos finds their source of inspiration and finds their purpose. My goal here on this channel is to inspire others to be creative. Even if you don’t have the same tools or the same hobbies as me, I hope my videos spark that idea you’ve been looking for.
Thank you for watching and thank you for helping me live my dream. No matter what country you live in, race, gender, sexual orientation, class, we are all MAKERS and all in this together. Love and respect!

Man, so inspiring - love that he's still going strong. My Dad would have been 93 this year and he was my inspiration to get started in Wood Working. Looks like your Grandpa was also a WWII veteran same as my Dad - truly the greatest generation of Americans. Great video - keep making sawdust, Tony!

Kudos, to your grandfather!! I am 72 and retired in 2002, before i retired i built my own shop and made sure i had all the tools i needed. Now i am out in my shop everyday and loving it. My wish is that i can be your Grandpa's age and still in my shop!! I couldn't agree more with his philosophy, A reason to get up every morning and i believe i have it. One of my joys is my 9 year old Grandson who loves working in the shop his his grandpa!!

Oh man, this made me cry. What a lovely man! Makes me miss my Grandfather, who was also a woodworker and inventor and ran a saw sharpening business out of his shop . I can still remember what his shop smelled like. I lost him the same year I graduated high school (‘94), so, he never knew that his granddaughter became a “craftsman” as well, but my aunts tell me that he would have been proud. Thank you for sharing him with us! And he looks absolutely fantastic!

Hey David, nice job with this video! What an awesome tribute. I really appreciate how he does it out of passion and doesn’t take a dime for any of it, and I can relate a bit because I made a decision a few years back to never again try to sell any of my woodworking but to only give away my projects as gifts to friends and family. It’s much more rewarding that way and I know I’m doing it for the right reasons.

We just laid my Grandfather to rest on Monday. He was 91 and up until just this year always made 100ish small ‘folk art’ Christmas or USA themed items for friends, family, and strangers at Christmas. He also helped start my interest in woodworking. It is now my turn to step and fill the void left by him and your Grandfathers Crosses May have helped me find the inspiration for this year, for me. Thank you.

I want to get started right away doing this also. They are beautiful, mean so much. I'll start by giving them to local churches, senior centers and food pantries. I am a ...almost 68 yr old woman. Thank you sir for what you do for others, spread God through your crosses.
