Folks, we need to truly cherish bands like this because there simply aren't very many left that create such beautiful music .....

I agree. I was a teenager in the early seventies. In my opinion, that was probably the best era for good rock music.

is it just me or does Anyone else who has heard this before go back to "That Time"?? Doobies, in every form, have been fabric of my life since 72 or so....

Me too bro!!! I was in tenth grade in San Diego, and my older brother had: The Captain and Me!!!! OMG, just like how you put it, I'm sure The Doobie Brothers help me grow up. I'll never grow tired of their sound. And they are a class act as far as their personalities @!!!

The first time I heard the doobies, I was in my uncles 72 Road runner and he had an 8 track, played Black water. I was smitten...Timeless/classic music that my children and grandchildren love TODAY

😂Lol🤣 I'll explain my laughter, but let me first say that I'm with you brother. I started listening to the Doobie Brothers in 1977 when I was in 7th grade. I laughed because doobies sound as if you are referring to joint's. In that particular era, what you typed doobies, joint's, also makes sense. Maybe an apostrophe would work...Doobie's. Don't worry because now I'm even confused myself. 🙃🤪😅😂🤣🤪🙃

I started playing piano in 1968'ish --- about 1972'ish I took up guitar (because the piano wasn't COOL to an 11 year old boy... Man o' man ... I was stupid). The Doobies have taught me soo much over the years.... From the Skunk days.... to the McFee era. McFee is one of the greatest musicians on the planet. And I have always loved Pat Simmoms.

Damn. Late April in Loveland CO! No wonder Patrick & Tom look like they're freezing. It IS friggin cold! The music has 'memories' written all over both songs. In 2021, I'm glad to have those memories tucked safely away in my 70-something mind. So many of those who shared this and other great music from that time are no longer with us. #grateful

Its very hard to play out there in the cold and windy times. Very happy to seem them healthy and enjoing themselves ! They are a band of brothers and at this late in the game, all of them did put aside egos; all of them enjoyed success solo or as songwriters with the band.

They did 4 or 5 albums that were near perfect! The Captain and Me was FABULOUS!! Gorgeous soft songs like “South city midnight lady” and hard rockers! I saw them in 73 and they were too damn loud!!! Every song sounded the same at a couple thousand decibels! I saw them 30 years later and they were great!!!.

Marty Howe in the case of the Doobie brothers it's the heart felt meaning of the message not the misspelling that shows where your coming from everyone has misspent moments throughout our lives it takes this kind of music to make misspent moments into a place along the way I played the sax solos on a E flat alto and the tenor or baritone were a little less to me

When the Doobies lost Skylark, Guy Alison and Tony Pia, they lost a bit of their sound and performance as a whole. The replacements are so so…..
