I have the 98 inch TCL C735K which I think is the European equal to what you have there. If I had of wanted it wall mounted, I would have unquestionably employed professionals. But I chose to stand mount it on my purpose built media cabinet which houses my substantial hifi system. The tv helps hide the mass of interconnects at the back of the cabinet. If I had wall mounted it, those cables would still be visible! I think the audio reproduction on this tv is better than any tv I’ve heard, even so far as to say, it negates the need for a sound bar. The top panel of my cabinet is 1 solid plank of 28mm slow dried, marine birch. Unfortunately, it is showing definite signs of bowing under the weight of the TCL. I’m getting the carpenter/joiner back, who built it for me, to look into reinforcing that top pannel. Big shout out and buckets of respect to Jen. That’s one hell of a fine girl you have there. I enlisted my wife to help me wall mount our 65 inch OLED in the bedroom. That wasn’t the best exercise in team bonding! LOL!!!

Definitely get an installer for anything this size. our 85" sony was all we could handle! that being said 85 vrs 98 2k vrs 8k....ill wait a couple years and use the 6k to buy fuel this month 🤣...great video as always!

I would be so nervous with a screen that size on the wall. Regardless of the strength of the mount I would feel better with it on its stand just because of the width of the thing. Not everyone has such a capable and friendly wife as Jen, I am sure we would argue and drop it at least once if I were to install it at home !

I always install my tvs including my 85 inch Sony. Having said that, when the time comes, I will have to think carefully about a tv of this size.

Nice 98” mirror. Inky black dark scenes will let you see who is in the kitchen, or the backyard, or the living room window. 300lb tv to wall mount.

My Manufactured home has 24" studs so I eventually found a really nice full motion stand that can do 24" and also can take up to 132lb. It's been a nice mount for my TCL 65 825 and SHOULD work with the Sony 75 Z9K that's coming Tuesday the fifth. That TCL looks pretty good picture wise, don't think I've watched your review of it but it certainly seems to win on uber size and a bright picture.

And obviously I'll mount it myself on the mount I have now, with some help. I mounted my original Hisense 55H8C 4k TV on a previous mount. When I got the bigger TCL I eventually got the better quality mount that actually fit the stud spacing and could handle more weight and swapped it to that one. When the new set shows up I'll swap it out for the new one and my bedroom gets a major upgrade. I used to repair old school crt televisions for fun and profit, those were some heavy sets to move around though nobody was trying to mount a wood console TV on the wall.

The right TV for the right location. Wouldn't put this in a dark room, but in yours with the huge space and huge wall this is much much better than a "laser TV" or a projector.

I never thought I'd ever see someone replace a Sony a90j with a TCL but I think it was worth it to watch movies, sports and gaming on that AWESOME BEHEMOTH! Great bang for your buck comparatively and Great job as always you two!

As sexy as a wall mount looks I don't think I'd hang 130 pounds on two studs. I'd invest in a nice media stand holding the TV and a big sound bar. And no way in hell would I attempt to mount this on my own.

Deciding between this one and the 83 in A90j and the 85 in QN90A which is on sale for only 2499 at best buy. Very tempted to save myself some money but just can't pull the trigger.

I’m finally at peace with paying the Sony tax. Their strict philosophy of adherence to artistic intent is worth a couple less 2.1 ports over time (w/ AT7000 soundbar you get one back). I’m torn between the a90j or a95k. I don’t know if I want to pay the early adopter tax too… 😬

William, I would likely get thr A90J, then QN90B as prices reduce and yes the Qn90A as long as the DSE is minimal. You will be amazed at how bright the QLED is but the OLED is amazing and has less downsides. Both are top tier

No you made a great choice. I would never go back to an LCD tv, after using Oled for the last 6 years. Yes the TCL is massive, but it also have terrible viewing angles, and overall worse PQ.

@@Svante Who cares about viewing angles with that size? And I don't agree with picture quality. For gaming, yes, for movies tcl blows lg out of water with better shadow detail, overall better film presentation.

The A90J is definitely better but 15" size difference is big

The TCL 98” R754 is the equivalent to the Chinese model 98X9C … However TCL just released a 98” quantum dot Mini Led model with 2304 dimming zones (called 98x9c pro) in the Chinese market. I wonder if TCL is planing on releasing a similar pro-mini-led model to the western market (US and Europe) soon? Would be awesome to watch a comparison between the two models in the future.

I hope similar affordable 98 inch mini led tvs from TCL will be released in the European market soon (I live in Denmark - a similar 98 inch as the R754 Qled model will be available for purchase next month in August).

Would most likely install the tv with a friend, unless the Tv would be best being calibrated, then being that I live in Scotland the hard part would be trying to find someone that was any good to calibrate it? Have you seen the Samsung is it worth the extra money over the TCL also what about the TCL ODZERO TV’s when are they coming out, that’s again for another great review Brian

I am alittle upset because I just ordered the samung 85" 900a (2021) because I was able to get it open box so I saved money. But comparing the size to the 98inch it is like comparing a French bull dog to a pit bull. BIG DIFFERENCE!!! LOL But I am grateful I can purchase it. Have a great day.

I would pay someone to do it, the size is too intimidating. Would you ever do an experiment with a broken TV that you might be throwing away? See how many command strips could hold up a large TV and how long?

I'm somewhat handy, but I'd never install a TV this big myself. And I have plaster/lathe walls (older house), so I definitely wouldn't want to take that on. I'd want someone experienced with a TV this big AND with plaster/lathe installs to do it.

Probably could do the install with competent help like my dad or brother but still wouldn't want to just from the fear of dropping and breaking it. At least having a pro do it the liability of a failed install would fall on them.

Who would but any tv above $4k and not havre at least a sound bar and more likely a receiver with 7.2.2. The full sound makes TV this size work.

wooh. My heart went when you mounted it on the wall mount! Those scissor mounts scare me, especially with big displays. The TV suits your room though. Anything else now just looks too small!!! lol
