Your 9x9 videos are easier for me to learn how you are reading out the board. Thank you!

Thanks for 9x9 content =) Nine by nine go is a single go problem after some moves lol. Definitely nothing to do with our beloved 19x19

Can anyone explain why yeonwoo made the move at 5:38? It Seems to me that this connection is safe, and no matter from which direction white would attack black would just connect on the other. Thanks :)

White is dead on the left so it is worth one point to play where she did

Because of Chinese scoring, I guess... also because it was sente and because the dude didn't want to resign =)

The white stones on the left side are dead. By playing there, the other intersection becomes a point for black. (black did not need the point, but there was nothing else left to do.)

The game is over. White is dead so it does not matter what black plays.

At that point the entire left white group is considered dead, so her move was the last endgame move in the game worth 1 point. If she had passed instead, her opponent would've played there and she'd have 1 less point.

Didn't the 6.5 komi mean you were still winning this if you just use sente moves and reduce? I have white as winning by ~1.5pts here. Maybe my counting is bad.

Go Quest uses 7 point Komi as it uses Chinese rules.

Black upper right is dead.. so what's the matter ?

Not so easy to kill because of the weak point at e6. E.g. after j4, j5, j7, h7, j8 Black plays e6 and there is no way to keep black from connecting or preventing a second eye around g6. Still against 2d she should have tried it, to see if he can find e6.
@bitti1975

Actually f6 seems to be more vital first. I.e. if white plays f6, f7, d7 after my above suggestion it seems to save white. Therefore the correct order of moves after the white Hane j4 should be f6 (!), f5, j5, j7, h7, j8 and then e6. So easy to make a mistake here...

@@bitti1975 After Black f6 atari, couldn't White just connect g5?
@bitti1975
@bitti1975 9 ай бұрын
@@deleteme924 Sorry, that's probably what I meant back then (instead of j5), otherwise Black can just cut white immediately at e6. But thinking about it once more: playing Atari at f6 immediately after White j4 isn't really necessary. Calmly connecting at h7 should be best (making Miai of living directly with j5, or playing with, f6, g5, e6).

grade is irrelevant on go quest (a relatively weak kyu player can become dan on go quest), only elo matters.
