Hi, wonder if you could help me increase my yield on my one tree. I have a dwarf avocado tree probably 15 years old. Each year I get tons of leaves and a lot of shoots that end up falling off the tree. I probably get 10 edible avocados a year from the tree. How can I prevent those shoots from falling off the tree and becoming edible fruit? Any suggestions?

There is 2 things i see that doesn't seem right ?? The sand in the pot is still loose and doesn't look like it has been watered and the carrot is missing. I might be wrong due to the fact of the humility and the moisture in the air. He also could be useing rain water. But i will try his method. 😊

@JimGuerami I'll have to correct you on that. Plants grown from branches, like in this method, have the same age of the mother tree. They do give fruit faster. As long is they have a strong stem and an established root system. That's usually within 2 to 3 years after they've been planted. I personally don't like them because of their age factor. If the three normally lives 15 years and the cuttings are done at age 8, the life span of the new tree will be 7 years. I prefer growing from seed. The dept of agriculture in my home country sells them in pots as dwarves. From the grasses in the pot, I gather that this video was shot in the tropics. I recognize the grasses. Avocados are native to the tropics. Even in Florida, it gets way colder than close to the equator. The grafting may be necessary here because we don't have the most ootimum conditions.

I started 2 plants following this method and on 5th day spotted a growth on one plant. But there is mould around so not sure whether this plant will last another 30 days. Anyway at least some truth to this video. Let's keep experimenting as it does not costs 😮

That's not how you get a dwarf tree. After it has grown for several feet to the height that you want, you remove the main root and leave the side ones. The tree will mature and produce fruit, but it won't get higher.

You may get a plant, but it probably won't generate a good avocado. Most, if not all avocados are grafted.
