I'm a meitei who belong to the general category and I've so many friends who are the same. Please try to be clear when you post something so sensitive. A tribal scoring a 300/800 (ST loaded fam) in CUET got in a top tier college in DU while my brother, who scored a 690/800 barely got in a good college in DU. How in the world is this fair? Reservation needs to go.

Why blame Government of India and Modiji ? What were the local leaders doing?

It's fair to say govt should pay attention which it is already paying. But should the Modi govt stop 'enjoying' all other 'work' and just focus on Manipur alone? Is that how you run a country? Have some maturity in understanding that there is difference in travelling for work and travelling on vacation. If the problem is complicated and deep rooted in several years the solution cannot be a quick fix. Even a CEO of a company can prioritize his work but can't stop all other activities and focus on just one thing for long time. That's the difference in an employee and a head of company/state.

It did not stop them from inviting a PM of other country. This is something you need to understand. These are official visits, not personal visits. Both leaders understand what's important for their own nation. Just check the list of agreements signed in this visit. On a side note, you can ask an employee to work on one task dedicatedly. A CEO cannot take such liberty.

Unite the country. Deep fissures is already present in current regime between various ethnic and religious groups in our country and you talk to unity. An ideal solution is not a solution at all. For uniting a country as big and as populous as ours, the political class needs to shun the religious and identity politics first, then after any solution can be put on table. The manipur clash took placed between the two tribal groups one is meitei another is kukie.Meitei has more than 2000 years old history in manipur their kings and ancestors once ruled the entire manipur . Mostly there are various religious people in meitei groups such as sanmahi , Buddhist,hindus and muslim also. kookies are Christian in majority and they have only 100 or 200 years history in manipur, record says that british helped them to sattle in manipur. The kookies get benifits of sc/ St reservation and they get facilities in government job they can buy land in entire manipur whether the meitei doesn't have any sc/St reservation even they can not buy their land in kookie's area. The conflict happens when meitei start demanding sc/St reservation for them and court also gave statement in favour of them. Some people highlighting this issue with religious angle whether the both group worship places being destroyed and women and children affected in this clash . And somebody portrayed this act as a hinduvta act then from which religion angle what should I say about the British and islamic invaders act ,what happened with girja tikko in kashmir what radical religion group act was that? Manipuri act is inhuman and gruesome and the ignorance of the central gov is totally shameful . But I have to say the western organization is hypocrite they become silent on various issues

Manipur is already under Article 355. The State govt is a mere puppet acting on behalf of the Union Govt. So its the Union Govt that has to act tough and take tough decisions for the welfare of the people of Manipur in particular, and for India in general. Because this issue cannot be looked at only as a State issue. If not tackled at this right time, it will have ramifications on our Country's security and integrity. This refugees and illegal imigrants settled in hills of Manipur also many in reserved forest and they are also indulged in illegal activities like poppy plantation and drug dealings. CM Biren started war on drugs and destroying of houses of peoples built illegally in reserved forest areas. Before eviction of kukis houses 200 meeteis houses were demolished and about only 58 kukis houses were demolished. These are the same kuki refugees and illegal immigrants who indulged in poppy plantation and drug buisiness. They were beginning to claim lands by saying them as ancestral lands and started writing fake histories, for instance you can check one individual called Mark Haokip who was caught for writing an article that Manipur or meetei land is only 700sq km of all the total of about 22000sq km. And when investigated upon him he was linked to Myanmar and was settled to India or Manipur not long ago. These refugees and illegal immigrants kukis were angry because of the govt actions. So they were waiting for a chance to unite with nagas to start and offensive on meeteis as the Manipur CM is meetei. As the chance came when high court order for recommendation of the inclusion of Meetei in ST to be sent by the govt to supreme court. They thought that nagas will also join this offensive attacks in the name of peaceful rally against the ST demands so they organised the rally on 3rd May. The Nagas also organised rally on that day but they returned home after the rally. But those illegal immigrant kukis( thousands of them)went for the rally passed their destination in meetei villages called torbung and started pelting stones and burning of house. When meeteis from Moirang areas went into the area to defend the peoples of torbung villages, ak 47 started shooting from the rally crowd which are the kuki militants under SOO. So the people can't go in to defend their houses from destruction and were ablazed. Even the police ran saying that they were not given orders because the kuki militants were under SOO. This is how the violence started in Churchandpur Torbung area.

Meiteis with SC, OBC already in their power, they're the most developing community in Imphal, Manipur. The 10% land was divided during the British rule hence they have the 10% rule. In villages like Kangpokpi and Churachanpur they have lands and buildings there. On May 3rd when we were about to go on our rally they initiated a counter rally where they were against us, we didn't say anything but when we went ahead with our rally which was supposed to be peaceful, they burnt our Kuki centenary Gate which is a commemoration for the Anglo Kuki war. They then chased our people out of Imphal brutally raped our woman burnt our people alive, shot a old women in church and they clamied she was a terrorist which was lies bc I knew that old lady ever since I was young, they beheaded our brother David and the list goes on

Not only that their so called arambai tengols "freedom fighters" guided meiteis to steal from the Kuki people. Note this: Kuki people have left behind everything, every single hardwork they've been saving up for years. They then went ahead to burn our churches and houses. They beheaded an innocent man. They say they want peace but can't stop sending people to villages where kuki people are taking refuge in and then they blame us again when we protect ourselves again. The chanting of "Kill Kukis" still rings in my head till this day

I am from NE , I am all for including NE history in education but that is not going to solve the issue. The real reason for problems in NE are 1. Divisive politics of local positions, which unfortunately all political parties has been keeping this alive, in the name of minority majority. 2. India’s policy of reservation based on caste and tribe. I am all for affirmative action but not based on tribe/caste. 3. Influence of Christianity in tribal areas they look at themselves different from Hindu/Buddhist. Long term solution - remove all special provisions, tribe , caste based special treatment. Let every citizen be same in the eye of rule of law. Yes, we should have welfare for the needy not based on tribe/caste.
