I think stranger of paradise gameplay is better, combat is very immersive. This FF has too much battle pause, screen shake and flashes

Did you miss the part were right after this ultima stops time. And the part at the apodetry where he also stops time. Or the interdimesional rift which is beyond time and space.

@@yeettm8014 "Part after this" I never played. "At the apodetry" I forgot about that, I don't recognize the word. "The interdimensional rift" I remember that but I don't recognize it as the same kind of thing.

@@yeettm8014 I'm not sure if those are instances of Ultima stopping time rather than him speaking directly to Clive's mind and time doesn't seem to pass only because Ultima's thoughts transfer to Clive instantly. The timestop effect is there probably to just convey that these things happen in Clive's mind in an instant.

@@Sincleaver than what about the whole infernal shadow fight? Literally at that happens during stopped time. Or if it isn’t even stopped time, what is it? That undermines ultima as the creator of magic. He has all the abilities of those below him.

@@yeettm8014 it's all in Clive's mind, he basically just invaded his mind either to motivate him or crush him. Those "stopped time" was just Clive dreaming the entire situation, it could've been just few seconds passed in real world.

Wow, no Medal of Valor for doing that hitless? Kind of a shame. Especially since this is probably the best boss in the game (at least in terms of bosses you fight as Clive and not as Ifrit). Anyway, as everyone else has said, truly amazing gameplay! I have no idea how you learn fights so perfectly and so quickly, especially when there's so much going on. Do you save before the boss so you can practice the fight itself? I can't imagine practicing through Stage Replay every time.

does this game have difficult timings like the souls games? I was considering getting this but from what ive seen, it seems too easy. I always seek out the hardest games and love mastering boss fights in games like sekiro, elden ring, and lies of p. Can you parry really long combos like in sekiro and lies of p?

Got tighter timings than sekiro, more like soul/elden rings. For a long dodge chain can see the 7:00 sequence.

You sound like a typical souls player who only knows soulslike. To compare this game to sekiro is foolish indeed. If anything ff16 is an action RPG like Devil May Cry or Bayonetta. If you like DMC you will like this game. You can try a free ff16 demo but remember that it is a story driven game so alot of cutscenes.

The parrying in this game is a bit different in that you have to land an attack just before the enemy hits you with theirs, which then causes a brief time-slowdown as the reward for a successful parry.

Bahamut, Ramuh, and Leviathan means u can do a pure caster build. Never gotta touch enemies. Leviathan gives u so much more range capabilities and also makes you really hard to hit with a crazy good dodge

Damn Clive has to be one of the strongest protagonists in FF i think lightning is the only one that comes close, unless im forgetting someone.

In terms of numbered titles I believe the WoL (FFXIV) might also have Clive beat due to being a composite FF character, including all titles (spinoffs) there a few protags that are above Clive, tho the most notable one is Jack Garland from Stranger of Paradise, he has almost identical power assimilation powers to Clive but it's not just limited to summons (Jack absorbed power from Emperor Mateus from FFII, Gilgamesh, Chaos, debatbly the strongest canon variant of Bahamut and more). Overall Clive is the probably tied with Noctis as the 3rd strongest FF protag behind WoL (FFXIV) and Lightning, including spin-off titles and the list becomes a very messy debate lol!

This has to be the most spectacular most entertaining Boss fight no damage you've done! Outstanding performance 👏. That ending is too perfect. Is like the enemy boss rehearsed this with you and followed the script to die in that fashion and by it showcasing the Hero in that super cool stance. Having his back turned to the fallen defeated foe. 😂 🎬 📹

The crazy part of this is probably you were forced to be defensive, not even Omega did this. I guess the developers realized all those toys needed something to test them out.
