A 1 owner 95 Nissan Sentra for $1500? Any good?

I went fishing on Craigslist and caught this elderly owned 1995 Nissan Sentra for a fairly cheap price. Was it worth the hype or did I overpay for a mid 90's relic?

Jimmy, it's been an absolute pleasure to watch your videos. Totally caught me off guard to see my name mentioned! That's very nice of you. It's KZfaqrs like you that really make the community a better place. Like I said, it would be surprising if you didn't have a few million subs by next year end. Please keep those videos coming, I personally can't get enough! Thanks again for the top shelf content :)

This is too cool. I bought a 99 Sentra (base model, faded paint, etc. But the interior and engine were MINT) for $150 not running. I put a fuel pump in it in the previous owner's driveway and it fired up like it was new and ran SO good. Yours is way nicer tho and has all the power options. I'd keep this one and put 100,000 trouble free miles on it if I were you. Nice find

Here in California, as long as you have an eyeball, you can get your license, as long as you see better than 20/200 out of an eye, ask me how I know this. I'd drive this Sentra, just one problem, the aftermarket radio, I'd put the stock onee back in, and I'd drive it. Thanks for the video, Jim.

I have a 92 Nissan Primera 1.8 auto SR18DE ( 4 injectors not 1 ) about 150 000kms the car was a Japanese import, beautiful car, it is silver with black trim inside and out, i have owned the car aprox 20yrs now, it has done weekend trips 1500kms in aprox 60hrs weekend, because i know with this car it will get there and back easily and NOT let me down!! Factory radio/cassette, NO stupid mods like being lowered etc! The car will remain with me until i Die!! Also own a 91 Toyota Carib 4wd 1.6 5 spd man, higher kms but runs great, fuel injected and a 97 Ford Laser sw 1.5? 5spd man. Mazda 323 rebadged basically. Good reliable car NO NONSENSE cars that DO NOT cost a fortune to keep or maintain service once a year or 5000kms, GOOD battery 430cca in each, timer switch and battery charger to keep battery topped up! USE 2 or 3 batteries ONLY cheaper ones are RUBBISH costs you MORE in the Long run, have a jump start on hand if needed, ( it jump started a 3ltr Hi Ace D4D diesel, STONE COLD had to leave it on to get the garage!! For a New Alternator! two have a garage working on that for Carib, it REALLY HELPS SO MUCH keeping these cars in good condition.

Much love jimmy AS ALWAYS I got a 2000 olds alero with I’m assuming a vac leak (dunno too too much about cars a few odds and ends) got the symptoms of it VERY sporadic rpms until it drops so low that it stalls no data whatsoever from the maf (s) I replaced it twice once generic quality then oem quality no changes now I’m off to find a mechanic that knows how to wire PROPERLY good luck to me I guess right…
@jimmyjimjims7483
@jimmyjimjims7483 2 жыл бұрын
Almost sounds like the fuel pump, very common on those Aleros. Also check the throttle body and idle air control valve, could be gummed up causing the rough idle and eventual stalling.
@joewilson1522
@joewilson1522 2 жыл бұрын
@@jimmyjimjims7483 I never even thought about that🤔 but I’d still need to get the maf connector plug or wiring harness replaced because something is wrong because when I hook up the code reader it says the maf is pulling 0 grams of air in at all times but who knows maybe I’ll just have to rebuild this ENTIRE CAR lol that’s for the reply Jimmy

It takes a lot of page refreshing and constantly staring at CL but they come up, the trick is to get there as quickly as possible with cash in hand. Don't give up, you'll find one! Focus on the cars that aren't as popular as they used to be (mid to late 90's cars basically)

im just gonna have to settle for one of these with horrible paint but good interior, it is manual. In trading my Mustang that needs about 4-5000 dollars worth of work to just pass emissions for it.. the guy wants the Mustang as a drift car...I want the Sentra as my daily driver...win win.

A side note. I don't understand why people cover the license plates in videos because when you drive on the road anyone can get your license plate number. Unless they have access to a DMV it doesn't matter.
@jimmyjimjims7483
@jimmyjimjims7483 2 жыл бұрын
I cover them in some videos because I don't like people seeing my dealer plate # (because of plate spoofing issues) or in some cases the plates are still registered to the previous owner until I remove/switch them so I just do it as a "just in case" to the previous owner. If its my personal plates I don't care and I just show them

Only use NGK or Denso plugs on a Japanese engine. Use them on anything honestly. Bosch plugs are absolute garbage. Auto parts stores will tell you the Oem gap spec when looking up plugs for your certain vehicle. I know from owning 7 200SX's with the GA16DE and the SR20DE the gap is .044. I've been working on cars for 14 years, and I've been working in parts for 13.

@@loden888 I only put NGK or Denso iridium plugs in my cars. Unless its a GM then I go ac Delco. My wife's Hyundai actually calls for champion plugs from the factory so that's what I put in it and it's still running like a top 20k miles later
