Enjoying a Saturday morning sawing slabs with my folks using a homemade buzz rig! This unique model was handcrafted by my dad in the 1980’s. Using the local Chatfield Napa store, he assembled this beauty with parts and the steel they supply in Escanaba, Michigan!

A wealth of treasures. Hardworking and crafty folks, a homebuilt saw run by a proper old Wisconsin V-4, a sturdy old square-body dump, and some fine four-legged companions. That's the life right there, lads.

I grew up on the farm and that's some scary equipment right there!😂 but when we were younger it didn't seem like it at the time. Pop's walks around that saw like it's the family pet!

Love those Wisconsin engines! The tag says it's a model VE4. 3" bore by 3 1/4" stroke. 91.9 ci. Makes 13 hp @ 1400 rpm, and a maximum of 21 hp @ 2400 rpm.

That’s killing it like a boss. I’ve done woodworking most of my life for fun, built a lot of furniture, and like your dad I still have two thumbs and four fingers. Looks like that what would make some excellent kindling, fire starters li split. The truck with the dumpster is sweet. If that’s your mom, she’s a go-getter, give her a pat on the back. Great family video.

I've never heard of a Briggs and Stratton boxer engine? Kohler engines were boxer engines. I had a Lincoln welder with a Kohler engine on it. Briggs and Stratton has the Vanguard V twin engines in fact they still make them. .

I watch a video about this motor, because there are such motors in Russia, probably only older. And they are no longer used for their intended purpose, but are hiding in sheds. The problem with all homemade products is that they forget the protective fences, but since the fingers are all on the hands, and the dog is running around, then everything is not so bad.

Listen to her just chug along at 1400 rpm driving thru those cuts with hardly a stumble. Cranks by hand after 70 years. Would probably run on the worst and dirtiest fuel you'd ever seen. I wish they still built engines like that. People nowadays would not know a good farm engine if it jumped up and bit them. Thanks for sharing.

In 1935, the Wisconsin Motor Manufacturing Company began producing petrol (gasoline) V4 engines for industrial, agricultural, and stationary applications, with several farm equipment manufacturers using the Wisconsin V4 engines. In 1968, the largest Wisconsin V4 engine was the V-465D with a displacement of 177 cu in (2.9 L) and a power output of 66 hp (49 kW) at 3000 rpm. The company produced V4 engines until 2019.
