Great video! I noticed that you said it was hooked to street water system. If a disaster ever hit they may not be able to draw from the street and the tanks only last so long they may want to consider a ground well near there bunker which will give them unlimited water supply. I noticed during the install the ground had a lot of water around the bunker that means the soil in rich in water and retains it good.

Ron: I've been enjoying your videos for several years, and this is one of the best yet. I have to wonder if your so-called competitors might pick up on info you're giving away and undercut you. Something else comes to mind: I notice that your offset stairways always descend from the left side, an advantage for an armed attacker but a problem for the defender (unless he/she is a southpaw). But if it came down from the right, a right-handed shooter would have an easier time defending because he wouldn't have to shoot off-hand, and the same disadvantage would apply to an attacker coming down the stair. You might even provide an optional hinged, stairwell-height flap of AR500 with firing and observation slots cut in it. This could be swung open from the stair side of the corner to offer additional protection to a defending right-handed shooter down below. Just a thought. Keep up the great work. If I ever get rich, I'll be in touch.

Someone could just walk up to the bunker and cover the air pipes, forcing the occupants to eventually exit.
@Cetok01
@Cetok01 4 жыл бұрын
@@leattner12 For a bunker like this one - located beneath the house's slab - the air pipes could be carried up within the walls of the house, thus less accessible, and can be disguised to make them harder to see. That being said, any such structure can be overcome with enough effort and patience. Survival is the art/science of opposing those people, places and conditions that are trying to kill you. Survivalism isn't a guarantee, it's an effort.

I need some help understanding the above ground air pipe. For me, it is the achilles heel of the bunker (of any bunker, not specific to Atlas). Aside from visually notifying people of the bunker's location, please help me understand what prevents a looter from: a) gasing the bunker, b) cutting part of the galvanized steel (I know not easy but it can be done) and throwing a grenade down the hatch, and c) completely sealing off air from above land (covering the air pipe) so the bunker will be airless. I know Atlas tries to explain some of these in the videos but they never go into so much detail. And I do realize a bunker is not a permanent solution, etc. I very much like Atlas and I am just trying to learn more about this. Thanks

As a machine operator for 40 years, might I make a suggestion of backfilling around your bunkers with a type of river rock & sand mixture that has been proven NOT to corrode metal like limestone or other mineral rock does. I noticed in this instance they just used native material to backfill. Nothing wrong with that but should be heavily compacted in lifts to prevent water saturation in loose material. Just saying! Keep up the good work, love your channel. Let me know if you need a good operator up here in Canada for excavations &\or backfill when you do a bunker for Canadian Prepper eh' ? Haha

How is that deep enough!? That bunker at that depth will only be good for a flood or storm... for other scenarios I doubt it’ll keep anyone safe.

Ron: I've been enjoying your videos for several years, and this is one of the best yet. I have to wonder if your so-called competitors might cry when they watch these videos. Something else comes to mind: I notice that your shelters always seem to be underground, an advantage for an earthworm attack. But if it was ABOVE ground, earthworms trying to attack would not have as much of an advantage. You might even provide an earthworm blocker made of AR500 plate. Just a thought. Keep up the great work. If I ever get rich, I'll be in touch.

Did you consider the location of the Yellowstone Caldera when you built it? There is a lot of forest around, when people leave the shelter, you will have to overcome the rubble from above, you need to put a saw and axes in the shelter.

Inspectorzinn2 But 200k will lend you a nice 3bed/2bath house in a more "normal" part of the US!? So no comparison. And even if you have milion $ house,200k for a "basement" like this is total waste! 2000$ spent on a good shrink will save someone 200k down the road.

@@johnblackmouth hur hur not even. listen chumps. An RV is actually cheap glued trash that falls apart in a few years. Unless you get a goddamned airstream. And ultimately I was referring to the water lines and pump system. Class dismissed.

Hello World the way you communicate is indicative of your video game playing. How is someone supposed to surmise from your vague statement that you were talking about the water lines and pump system? However I was crystal clear in that I was referring to the interior of the RV as opposed to that of the underground bunker; hideous and underwhelming.

You did an awesome job filming! You got me hooked! I am now subscribed with the notification bell too. Hey, if you haven't already, can you make some videos on how to go about surveying & percolation of land to see if it can be dug up like that? I had recently bought me a .31 acre lot down there in Cheraw, SC and your videos got me wondering what use I can make out of it. It previously was a burnt down house, but the remains been removed, and overgrown vegetation is manicured. I look forward to seeing more of you. Thanks again!

@Nino Brown along with all the neighbours and anyone driving by on that highway for the better part of a week. For me the amount of engineering needed (and no doubt associated permits etc, all in the public domain) would be a deal breaker. The biggest, flashiest bunker in the world isn't going to save your ass if everyone and their dog knows where it is and heads there when the bomb drops.
