three 6 didnt start everything, but they did impact n inspire a lot. there were those in memphis tennessee before em. plus, 3 6 was very inspired by texas sh*t in the early 90s. the whole dark style came from folks like ganksta nip and tha terrorists (dope e & egypt e) check sum of the early rap a lot stuff, youll hear samples n styles that they were influenced by

@@lee_drifting Yea, and if there's the heart n soul in songs, and it's not a song about condoning, but rather the idea of not making the right choices; how one's been affected. Then it's prolly not that bad, ya kno? There's some songs I've listened to that are nice. Like yep, they got the murder rap, but there's those mellow uplifting songs. I don't think rap artists were really in the mindset of making mellow beats n lyrics when they had the identity of a G, back in the 90's n it still feels that way now. Tupac said somethin on it, and I think that idea cemented the mindset of upcoming artists. That gangster rap is gangster rap, and hip hop is hip hop. Can't be no different, but I mean we're human. So I'd enjoy some new artists making some fire music.

Yeah no they're not. Keep It G is dope but I barely play that song out of will off the tape, same with Pretty Flacko. They're cool to revisit every now and then (like every few months or so) but the replay value is limited. The best tracks have insane replay value and don't get old. I always play LVL like every 3 days or some shit. Bass is dope. Heck even Praise the Lord has better replay value than those songs.
