After checking out Gobou's day 2 stream, ABA is cracked. There's lots of tech to keep her jealousy gauge high. He stays in jealous rage 99% of the time too. Haven't finished the video yet, so looking forward to see how far you get on day 1.

I’m not trying to be annoying but I seen so many people say that they didn’t know the key stab was plus in normal mode. Did no one watch the character guide? The guy clearly says that move is plus on block. So I’m just so confused why everyone is acting surprised that it’s plus on block when in the character guide video he says it’s plus on block.

@@josiuwu Tower is good for like 95%+ of the playerbase. But for high level players, once you hit celestial , there isn't really anything to shoot for (as seen in the vid), that's why ratingupdate is a thing.

Nah. Before i reached celestial, tower was -1st match : lv1 sol badguy that know f.s only -2nd match, same floor : a sol that do mix that you dont even understand at your rank. So you get 0 -3 lose a floor, and then, you are the god that destroy peoples because you dont belong here And i wont even start at how bad the tower is at matchmaking

I'm honestly kind of worried about what's gonna happen once she's optimized. She is supposed to suck in normal mode but now that there's a insta stance changer that has no downsides and she no longer has to actually be careful when in rage mode because the animation when her bar runs out is Frame 1 invincible and she can immediately block afterwards, so you can't even punish her for mismanaging meter immediately. She still has amazing disjointed outlier moves in normal mode such as 5H and the pushback on it is crazy. I think the reason nobody's saying the character is OP is because when it comes to the other characters we've had things people HATED like Happy Chaos in his entirety. I'm definitely worried because the risk reward factor is lower risk higher reward than even Nagoriyuki and he is lower risk higher reward than even +R's A.B.A.

the punishment for her mismanaging her meter is being forced into normal mode. With no jealousy meter. Meaning, after transforming into the worst character in the game she needs to land hits to be able to become good again. Like, bursting aba at the right time will win you the round. Nago is still at least a threat in blood fever. Aba is just baaaaaad in normal mode.

Aba is the most fun I’ve ever had with strive, she has some pretty significant weaknesses in some matchups, but I’ve been doing much better with her than anyone else and I finally feel like I have a character that fits my playstyle perfectly

I think we need a change in mentaly. Rage isn't an install. It's her base, and she has an exhausting mechanic. Stay aggressive, and we can develop strings to optimize meter gain while keeping her boosted for as long as possible.

I'm so glad i'm not the only one! I know the feast/famine characters pretty much carry that stigmatism about them, but I really don't think ABA is awful when not in jealous rage. Like, her buttons and frame data are actually really solid, it's really just her mobility that sucks.

No, the normal mode buttons are garbage outside of her L and K buttons. 2S is situational, fS is meh, 2D has tiny range. Okay, you can say her 5H is fine, but compare it to Ramlethal's or something. It is extremely slow and has massive whiff recovery, people can IAD over it for free.

grab into key grab is nice (responding to person in chat around 41-42 minutes in) but the fact she can blood packet without blood packets makes up for it since you just get it on knockdown (at the cost of oki but you're then playing neutral as aba so it balances out) which makes the rekka (which is a good jealousy builder) a strong option in many situations where key grab can't quite reach, as well as a really good block pressure tool since the moment anything hits you finish rekka -> transform. Oh it also makes hits that toss them full screen strong because you can blood pack blood pack if you were in install for a long while since it grants you more jealousy meter (dunno if it scales with time in or damage you do while in it but point is it gives you meter back without needing to key grab rc key regrab)

i've tried playing her a little it feels like whenever you combo somebody switching between normal mode and jealous rage is the answer. especially at the corner: whenever you get a splat just do manual switch then immediately either 214 h or super which both will break the wall and you'll have a lot of extra rage while staying in rage. granted when splatting with 236 s for example it's harder to do but if you splat with a normal it's very easy and very rewarding. the point of her gameplan is 2 things: 1) how do i get to jealous rage 2) when im in jealous rage how long can i make it last

I'm still quite new to the game (I have some prior FG experience, not much tho) and after being carried by Elphelt to floor 9, I'm now proudly a floor 6 A.B.A player... Either way, day 1 A.B.A was great, my favorite part was playing a mirror matchup and we both decided to do around 5-6 214S inputs in a row at the same time lol. Maybe she's not the best main to have as a newer player but I just like her design so much.

Diaphone I need help finding my playstyle in fighting games, here’s some patterns I found out and stuff I like. If you see this, please give me suggestions😭 My play-style involves a lot of neutral and running away. I like long buttons and to keep my opponent at bay. I try to mix up my options, not like y’know mix ups I mean I like to try different stuff in the same situation to see if it works. I love me a good projectile, my first input I did was a hadoken playing ryu. I keep telling myself I like to rush in and do big damage but now I dunno so what kind of character should I play?

sometimes twitch chat has a lot of restraint, that person at 1:45:19 that asked "why don't you use rekka in combos" is something I would have said like half an hour into this lmao the range is a good indicator for when you should keygrab, but also it has good rage gain. usually it's a better alternative to keygrabbing at low gauge as a combo enter so it'd put you back at like half rage and give hard KD instead of going into JR at 25% rage and then dropping it in 5s.

I haven't fully quit caffeine, but going from drinking two mugs of coffee a day (close to 4 fluid cups' worth) to just drinking two fluid cups of black tea was a challenge. I started getting heart palpitations and panic attacks from the coffee. It's not just "Oh god I'm panicking" it is a legit belief you're having a heart attack. I sat in the driveway trying to call my wife at work because we only have 1 car and I was both convinced I was having a heart attack and also curious why I wasn't already dead. If the migraines and nausea from caffeine withdrawal are anything at all like what drug addicts have to deal with I'm not surprised people find it tough to get away from it. Also I suck at fighting games so I responded to this bit instead.

He's the squishiest character in the game, if he mismanages any of his resources he has to actively work to get them back, relies on RNG, his normals are just alright, his cubes loose against any hitbox and characters can cancel their normals into specials on them (Nago 5H into spin) hardest character to play in the game, no defense options.

If tekken just deleted the 90 useless moves per character it would be exactly like other (non-tag fighter) games and you could learn basics very fast. Tekken players just have to spend the first week or two figuring out which 90 moves on a new character you should never press and then it's fast to learn the basics when you know the 20 actually useful moves.

@killerkonnat there are 'gimmick' moves but nothing fully useless - for the most part the utility given from the 'useless' move is outshined by a more 'useful' move. However, in tandem with movement and/or oki/set play lies the tom foolery of tekken; now the 'useless' move is mix option that can have opponent panic. It's a high risk high reward. Even simplifying the movesets (removing moves) wouldn't warrant much because the core gameplay lends itself to being innately harder anyway, we would still find it would take months to guage a tier list. This is the case, even now. Tier lists for characters don't really factor in the 'useless' moves - they're redundant. Its based on their fundamentals and movement, frame traps and just their strongest moves. And universal key moves (jab) df1 etc. Play a heavy part in the ordering. So yeah i don't think removing anything would change the difficulty in evaluating the characters and figuring them out.

frames are the fractions of a second the game updates at. most fighting games run at 60 fps, so a move that activates in 10 frames takes a tenth of a second.
