Is spending 100 straight days with a family of owls crazy? Maybe, but for me , what I captured will blow your mind. This is a fun documentary for adults, kids, bird lovers and wildlife photographers. All the music was provided by ‪@epidemicsound‬ Everything was filmed with ‪@SonyAlphaUniverse‬ gear.

I used to work at MES and just learned about The Barred Owl documentary. I enjoyed the video very much and appreciated learning about your other talents. The the summer before I moved from East Hampton a Barred Owl family came to visit my home. Every evening around 6 three owls would hunt our field. I assumed it was two parents and a young owl. Once while taking a picture of one of the owls it flew and landed about 3 feet from me and we just checked each other out. I had never been that close to a wild owl before. Another evening I was watering the garden and an owl landed by me, not at all disturbed by the water spray. I learned later that owls like people. I considered the visits as the wildlife saying good-bye before my move to Maryland where I no longer live in the woods. So, thank you for your hard work because it brought back a wonderful memory.

Wow, I am so impressed with this one on many levels. The amount of time in the field, culling footage and photos, and editing this project is immense. This is what wildlife photography is all about, going deep and making a connection. Great dedication. I have got to observe a barred owl nest as well, and then I realized recently I must have had one in my back woods as I started hearing that hissing about a month ago. Sure enough I have at least two owlets. You got some great sequences, like the owl falling out. Glad the feathers weren't one of you owlets! How perfect, to get all 4 together on your last day, day 100. I enjoyed the photos at the end too. Well done! I will watch this again with my daughters.

❤❤Joe: this was an exemplary documentary. Very heartwarming. Excellent videography & photos. I was born & raised in CT for 25 years. Been hiking since age 11. I am familiar with the area. Worked on Hartford. Moved to Sacramento, CA in 81. There were 2 Great Horned Owl mates I followed for years that came to a Eucalyptus tree every fall down the river. Last storm, the limbs of the tree broke off where they perched & they left. I used to love hearing them "talk"/hoot to each other. I love owls. Very fascinating. I didn't know what kind it was as it was the first I had ever encountered and photographed. I came across your video during my research. So glad I did. It also was a Barred owl. @@angenella5563 thank you for watching! I have not seen the male since the Bluejay scene and I haven’t seen Mom in two weeks .. I’m sure they are around. They tend to go further away once the owlets grow up. If you have a minute, can you hit the subscribe button? It will help me grow the channel and do more videos. If you already did it thank you so much! I’ll be doing a podcast this summer answering everybody’s questions that they have about the documentary!
