@@TheCaliforniaBeekeeper It's all about the ground. In dry areas (deserts etc) lay an old section of fence flat on the bear side and connect to the ground. That will do it.

Oh most definitely for this location , we were at 4,500 ft and for this area that’s hot! Wasn’t expecting that when we arrived there. We deal with 100+ in the valley and have become pretty acclimated already, we are dealing with some higher temps this week with 110+ for about a week. Early work is the way to do it so you have it down👌🏼 I went out last night to drop feed cans at midnight and it was 90 all through night. It’s been rough for these girls. What time do you normally get started if you stop at 9am?

@@TheCaliforniaBeekeeper Just giving you a hard time brother. I would LOVE to have those 4k elevation and views though. With those temps and low humidity, I suppose even weedeating poses some high fire risks. It's not really our 95+ temps that get me as much as the 60-75% humidity that kills me. Sweat won't dry and clothing chafes... Only 25 hives so if I start around 6am I can zip through them pretty quick.

Man that kind of humidity would kick my behind! How in the world do you manage that!!?

Unfortunately we stay on a property where no hunting is allowed but ,if it becomes a real problem we are friends with our local county biologist who could help us out. He does stuff with wildlife in our area.

@@TheCaliforniaBeekeeper I believe you can get a depredation permit if they keep destroying ur property.. I have a customer up in Vacaville that has it for deer cuz they eat on his young walnut trees.. I have friends that bow hunt.. using a bow is fun.. hunting with em is another story.. especially on public land..

Oh man! How do you help with stopping those birds eating your bees?

That’s horrible! Here in the states some farmers have automatic blank shotgun shells that fire off to scare birds from there crops. Would that be an option?
