The Wuthering Waves combat system is a lot to unpack, so today I've prepared a beginner's guide to detail some of the gameplay basics from CBT1! This video will cover everything from the basics like elements (not quite elemental reactions) and Resonance Skills, to more unique concepts like Concerto Effects (QTE system), Resonance Circuits, and of course ultimates which are specially dubbed as Resonance Liberations in WW.

Everything from 5:50 and beyond is the video is outdated information. The rest of the stuff stays relevant, although some have slightly changed in-game terminology. Similar effects to Concerto Effects from CBT1 can be found on Outro Skills, meaning teams are less element-centric and more focused specific character synergy! why do many people don't know that if you collect the right echo monsters you will also get a buff, even though there are lots of slots there to place other Monsters so you can get an elemental buff,According to the instructions provided

i feel like not many casual players (genshin mostly) will like this game, cause knowing PGR the souls-like combat will be part of wuthering waves, where there's no such thing as meta and even with high level equipment bosses can still kill you easily if you dont learn their attack pattern and when to parry, i myself enjoy this kind of combat

genshin nowaday they make monster big and fast to sell new shield character like the panther and crocodile in abyss to sell baizhu, you dodge but you can only dodge the dmg, then the hit box of that freaking monster will still push you around, they push you to a corner then they will gang bang you there lol, im tired of playing on mobile, dodging attack of one big moster then a freaking truck zoom in and hit me from across the room, hope that is not the case in WW

Dunno what bosses are like that in PGR. I'm at lvl 70+ now and there wasn't a single enemy/boss so far that required to learn or adjust anything in my party.

@@marcuskane1040 he said learning attack patterns. You can see the difficulty once you start playing the harder modes like Babel or Norman (some of the story bosses are challenging too but you can revive infinitely in story mode).

I never like bow/non-melee attacks in Genshin, as they're all weak and slow, ineffective against aerial or non-ground enemies. Wuther Waves fixed that, as not only incorperate fast gun attacks, but also normal aerial attacks and combos to deal with aerial enemies.

@@MrNobody-jz5gx Probably bad phrasing. The normal attack of most bow characters in Genshin are weak/not really meant to be used. Ignoring outliers/gimmicks like machine gun Fischl because most people will want to have working hands. Tartaglia doesn't count either so that leaves Yoimiya.

so echoes is basically like yokai abilities in nioh 2 which can be used to chaining combo too, and from what i see they have attribute and stats as well like yokai abilities

Does farming the echoes require any type of resources or can you farm freely until you get the stats you want?

You can farm echoes freely in the world but mobs probably aren’t infinite in the overworld like Genshin and have to wait for reset to respawn. Echoes are tied to a stamina system because their EXP is farmed through Tacet Fields (leyline equivalents) and you have to level them up for substats.

First Closed Beta just ended, it'll be a while before the official release of the game. Will be available on both mobile and PC for sure, not so sure about PS5 yet.

enjoy the game without whaling first, if you happen to want certain character but got a few currency (pull), then go ahead. One thing to note, this game likely not going to be easy as a player whaling on it like in certain game (you know..)

Wait, how do you perfect evade attacks? 1:17 I dont understand. U press attack after the evasion?? That does not make sense?

Perfect evasion is just dodging right on the attack timing. Then you press attack immediately to do the evasion attack.

If this game has native 240hz support, it’s already better supported for pc play than genshin.

My decision hinges on a few things. How gacha is the game to get the characters and equipment I want and their upgrades. Like, am I suffering Genshin's C6 for characters? If so, I'm not touching this game. And, is it required that I have a squad of specific elements to get through areas or can I just play with one character only?

No you wont need to pull a certain character just to have easier time exploring an area. About gacha though, in cbt they copied gi's gacha so it sucked (although you wont need any "c6" character to clear all contents), but let's see if it will change in the next cbt or not

Yeah you can play this game with only 1 character but it will be quite slow to kill bosses

As pgr player, kuro kinda generous on gacha, for example in pgr usually one copy of unit is gacha then u can farm another copy for free and the character is fully functional, any more copies than that might buff a bit stats or faster your combo. But one thing i notice they really love swapping playstyle, so yea at least 3 character for a team i guess, but dont worry kuro is a very listening developer, many complained ab gacha system similar to genshin. I think they will adjust them to be more f2p friendly when it debut

It's just like Dragon Nest PC. And Dragon Nest PC has the best combat in terms of combos and once you get the hang of it, it's really fun!

more like, the stun state is too long and unrewarding. I'd rather be able to land a super strong critical hit during their stun state and ends the stun state in an instant

As a pgr player it I don't think this is considered as Genshin killer. Us pgr players are asking for better content to the original game like improve their story progress and they did but not enough. Instead they made Wuthering Waves which leads more to "PGR Killer".

As a PGR player, I completely understand what you mean. However, WuWa looks like a Cash Cow in the making and If they're capable of making it will the proceeds from the monthly revenue will surely bounce back towards PGR as well since any monetary gain for Kuro is a gain for both, WuWa and PGR. Same is said if inverted on a Loss, but the only way I see WuWa taking a Loss is through Story which is my main concern. If WuWa can make a decent story or like PGR (trash early game, but great end game) then I think they have this in the bag and wouldn't be surprised of consistent $5M+ monthly revenues! (i'm being conservative in those revenue expectations btw, but that'd be 4x the monthly revenue that PGR brings in, Just to get my point across)

@@ashron4472 Of course it will, Since for example, I played Genshin early on and really enjoyed it. I saw that many other people did as well and so I checked for other titles under the same creator and found HI3. I then tried the game and played it for a few, but the whole point is that a gacha game with a high monthly revenue will be deemed "better" than others because it has one or more aspects that people are willing to spend money on. So if WuWa becomes Top 3 monthly earning post launch, That monetary gain will surely lead players to see Kuro Games as "Higher Value" then other developers and will clearly bring people towards their other games.

It's a business first and foremost, but already we have seen the passion from the Dev team and We know of their generous reputation from PGR. So definitely not how Hoyo has treated Genshin Impact, but more akin to how Hoyo is treating Star Rail. Obviously, this presupposes decent sales since it's way harder to make/continue a game like WuWa and Genshin so if sales drop to PGR levels then I doubt they'd garner enough funding from investors to keep the game alive at that point.@@ashron4472

Combat and boss design look amazing, but I’m concerned about the likability of the playable characters. They all seem bland and serious from a first glimpse. Part of the gacha experience is simping for husbando/waifu/babygurl/babyboi/robot/plant/rock and some fan service as much as I hate to admit 😂

The thing is serious and bland is Kuro's style. You should understand if you take a look at Kuros previous game. The thing is what your describing will NOT fit in with this game. This is apocalyptic game, not Genshin where its not as bad. Genshin fits with the more colourful, beauty. This game is showcasing how dark games can be. I'm not trying to be rude btwz but the character design your wanting just won't fit with Kuro's style.

We'll see. Several of these are also in Honkai Impact but they are part of different characters' kits rather than base line(resonance circuit, aerial attacks) or enemies(parry). My initial reaction is that keeping them character specific helps with make each character more distinctive from each other. This video has helped reinforce the impression of Honkai Impact characters in Genshin Impact. Can't say if that is good or bad but it is certainly different. miHoYo's statement about QTE: "Character switching skills such as QTEs will make the combat much harder, so it is tentatively out of the picture~". It is a mistake to assume this and Genshin are going after the same audience.

Characters look beyond generic tho and enemies are yet again, just like in PGR, nothing but sponges that don't poses any threat unless you are heavily underleveled.
