@@Maraksot78 First, great video! Second, I got a question. Building my first PC using the new Ryzen 5600x with an Asus Prime x570-pro mobo. I’ve been told I may need to update the bios based on what version is on the board. So my question is will the mobo even be able to start and enter bios with the 5600x on it if it needs the latest bios to run the 5600x? Thanks in advance!
@Maraksot783 жыл бұрын
@@justinwilliams7305 My understanding is no... As far as I know you'll need to have a Ryzen 3000 series CPU in order to update to the BIOS to support a new 5000 series CPU. Of course if you get a motherboard that has already been updated by the motherboard manufacturer then you of course don't need to worry about that but if it hasn't then you'll need an older CPU to do it. There are some motherboards out there that do not require a CPU to update the BIOS but unfortunately I don't know what those boards are off the top of my head. I'm pretty sure the Asus Prime X570 is not one of them though.

Thanks a million man. let me tell this first, I'm Iranian so, "sorry for my bad english." I bought a sound card and PC won't post when I installed it. the pcie card was OK and I test it on other computers. the pcie slots also were OK, I was so confused. then after 2 days of thinking and watching youtube videos , I realize that maybe this card have some incompatibility to my motherboard. then I went to my motherboard webpage for bios . say to my self " why should i do bios update where as the new beta bios has nothing to do with my problem". last night I saw your video on youtube that mentioned a tip about compatibility of new hardware's on older motherboard's. that moment I remember the description of new beta bios of my motherboard that says "improve new high end graphics card compatibility", then say to myself "hey, GPU card is pcie, and you have a pcie incompatibility problem for pcie x1 sound card". earlier this morning I updated the bios and install my sound card and PC booted to windows and everything is OK now. Your video was very very helpful to me. I watched all 13:40 min. full of useful tips for me. I update bios for the first time. Thanks.

I know this is an old video, but I found it researching issues with a motherboard I have purchased for a budget build. Long story short the BIOS Firmware that comes preinstalled often times will not work as is so, it needs a better version installed. Your source is absolutely right, I've found your tutorial by searching how to update my bios. And the reason is: I've build my new gaming PC using ASRock b650m pg riptide and pairing it with a Ryzen 5 7600x. Turns out some AMD's CPU's have problem with fTPM module. So around May, 2022, AMD has sent patch to motherboard manufacturers to issue bios version which rectify this error, but as it turns out that ASRock didn't do this I had horrible stuttering trouble. New version of bios is coming out and I'm educating myself 😊 There is one more solution, to buy TPM module myself, there is a port to install it directly to motherboard, there is some process to follow but is also a viable workaround to my problem. Anyway thank you for the video! 🤗

Here's an odd reason why I had to update my BIOS: Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War wasn't running on my PC all of a sudden after working since launch, it was literally resetting my PC when I tried to launch it. I tried all troubleshooting I possibly could until I found this video, installed the latest BIOS, and like magic it now works again. So apparently software compatibility issues can require a BIOS update too!

The reason I found this YT video was my ASUS M/board had the MS health check which told me that I did not have a TPM module. So now I've bought one - (SPI-TPM), I researched and found that the M/board BIOS may not support the SPI-TPM. So before I fitted it, That's the reason I watched your video, and I took onboard all your "cautions" re updating a M/board. The old saying "that, - if it's not broke don't fix it" applies sometimes but not in my case, without the TPM I can't update to Windows 11.

I'm not in need of a BIOS update since my PC seems fine, but DELL periodically sends me emails requesting for me to go to the link they provide at their site and perform the update. They make it seem as if it's as easy as a typical Windows update and say I can keep working on my PC while the update is occurring! I remember the days when it was just as you described in your video, so though I'm tempted, it's not worth the aggravation of bricking my PC when it's not even clear to me what the benefit might be.

I found your video, because I wanna do my first pc build with the AMD Ryzen 3 2200ge. And I am doing all my homework, before actually commencing the build, which involves a BIOS update just in case lol.

Very well presented. Danger areas emphasised. Comment about choosing USB Slot at the back of computer very relevant. And you don’t sound like a cowboy!

That's a pretty new baord, I'm confident you'll be fine. Shouldn't need to update your BIOS.
