As a newer photographer I love videos like this that share "thought process". As you say, camera settings and rules are essential to learn, but that is only the foundation of starting to create better images. It's this more advanced thinking that leads to better images. Thank you for sharing.

Thank you to James Popsy for introducing you! As a newbie, I am overwhelmed by how much there is to take in and learn. I have watched and read a lot of stuff to try and make sense of it all, to be honest I’m am still struggling. I thought it had a lot to do with my camera being my iPhone. Then I discovered you, and now it is starting to make sense. I have watched about five of your video and in everyone I have had a light bulb moment! You explain everything so clearly and in layman terms that even I can understand and make sense of. I love how you use your own work showing both sides of what you are explaining. Keep up the great work, you are doing an excellent job! 😊

This is definitely the most well articulated and hands-on tutorial on composition that I have come across in quite a while. Not only do you cover a lot of ground but you also provide excellent positive and negative examples illustrating your points. I think we can learn from composition mistakes even more than from good examples. And the fact that you showed how things can go wrong was very helpful.

This is one of those moments where you 🤦🏻‍♂️as it's so obvious when it's explained and yet not taken much notice of when taking a photo. I've heard plenty of photographers bang on about balance, however none have really gone on to explain what they really mean. Thanks for a concise, no thrills but good explanation of what balance is.

Extremely useful information on improving composition, the examples and explanations were particularly helpful. Your cropping examples clarified the points you were making for me. This was really well articulated and thought provoking. I've been using the terms balance and weight myself when looking at compositions, but had never broken it down to which elements should be assigned more or less weight. The tower bridge shot is a fantastic example of how easy it is to make the image uninteresting by not giving the viewer clear areas of focus.
