My personal opinion is that this is the most beautiful creature on earth. Don’t get me wrong, I love all Gods creatures, (most in the mammal category anyway) but especially this one. Of course it comes with a healthy respect for these apex predators. What is that bird that is calling at the first of the video? It can’t be that crow? Never heard anything like it? It’s wonderful too!

@@michaelmyers7255 No it's not. Ravens are not uncommon and are not obscure to most people. I guarantee most people, if capable of identifying a crow, have heard of and know what a raven is. Not having heard of a raven is like not having heard of a blue jay. You don't have to have an extreme fixation on wildlife to know what these two bird species are. Typically you just have to have a moderate awareness of the world around you and not be completely sucked into a brain-mushifying bubble of only Netflix shows and makeup tutorials on KZfaq. So yes, my statement still stands. Unless you are living under a rock, you should be aware of ravens.

@@JukkaLamsa No I would absolutely not! I was just kidding but I use to live in rural northern Wisconsin and would see black bear daily. Fascinating animals but I've never seen a grizzley in real life, not even in a zoo.

To all the commenters: this is not a grizzly bear. This is a brown bear that lives in Finland. Grizzly bears are a subspecies of brown bears that only live in North America.

Huge impressive Bear. Perfect footage. I live in north western Greece, we also have brown bears, although they average size is smaller than this giant, only a few are getting that big. But I am confused about the sound of the bird. You said it was a raven, and I can see hear that in the second vocalisation. But what about the first vocalisation? Is it also from a raven? Do they make a variety?

lmao ... i love the lunatic sounding bird .... probably just a warning shot to all residents like "stay alert---huge one in the area" They make these calls for all sorts of animals and i find it so fascinating the communication that goes on in a forest.

Yes, you are exactly right. Ravens warn other forest animals of dangers and create a great shamanic atmosphere in the forest. Without ravens, the forest is empty and desolate.

Looks to be a well managed forest...little to no heavy underbrush (fire fuel), and no obvious fire scars on the trees says this forest has been fire-safe for some time...nice! Excellent place for a bear to find berry bushes, mushrooms and all sorts of other "bear'licious" treats! And, though not overly plump this brown bear seems very relaxed, healthy, just out for his/her daily ramble around the back yard! Thank you!

Thanks Borris! The video is the first video I shot with a medium format camera. 3D impression is pretty great? There are ravens in the sound and the wind in the forest is quite strong. The sound quality could be better, but that’s what it is. Greetings to Bavaria here in Turku, Finland.
