This is Truly a golden age for portable gaming. When im not using my deck Im playing GeForce Now on a backup Samsung phone I have with Xbox controller. Was playing Diablo 4 and Destiny 2 all weekend. I dock everything to an anker dock and a element 15.6 portable monitor 1080p with free sync and man the experience is so nice sucks Halo infinite was getting maintenance. I wish Nvidia would get with vavle to fix GeForce now on the decks but inputs. I grandfathered into GeForce Now last year and only pay 25 for 6 months Xbox game pass needs to learn its membership tiers like Nvidia

GN Steve has a _wide_ reach, and he's increasingly willing to use it. He's not shy about pressing the issues, and not at all shy about calling them out when they don't want to address issues.

Thanks for another great show, fitting for me today seeing you both served in Hawaii, and I just sent my daughter to K-bay in Hawaii on father's day, I'll take it as an omen my Marine is going to be okay. I ended up playing the new Diablo 4 season yesterday to distract myself. The show was a great way to start my day, thanks guys!

I've been somewhat surprised by the recent Asus RMA stuff. Not that it's happening, but that people are surprised, as if hearing this for the first time. I've been doing IT work for just over 40 years, and in every circle I've worked, all of us have known that while Asus products tend to be very good quality, **if** you get a bad one, you're fucked.

As far as I know, Epic was giving Square a better deal than Steam was per copy, so it does cost them more to list it on Steam over Epic. Although I think we'd all agree that the volume of sales on Steam would be way higher!

Yes, Epic was giving them a better deal, but the audience is much smaller, its better to be in both places, and just hope that people buy it from epic.

If Nintendo wasn't so greedy and instead of shutting down Wii and 3ds shops, allowed purchases to be forward compatible to switch and beyond including rom catalogues they would be the number 1 gaming platform and company without question.

Square has done this since the FF7 Remake PC Trailer, they specifically mention Steam Deck in all marketing.

The right order to play the kingdom hearts games is conveyed well once you're in the menu of each collection, in 1.5+2.5 you have to play the games as they're listed from top to bottom and in 2.8 you play them as they're listed from left to right, just play them in order and you shouldn't be too lost. (Also I recommend playing the actual Nintendo DS games instead of watching the cutscenes included in the collection, the experience is just a downgrade if you only watch cutscenes)

100% understand what he means by Paper Mario remaster not feeling fluid enough. I don't even think it's the framerate, it just feels "clunky". Trying to advance dialogue boxes (there are a ton of them) just feels better on the original.

The KH games are meant to be played in release order (playing by story order will ruin plot twists in the games). I would recommend watching the cutscenes for 1 (in the game go to gallery and play all and it plays like a movie) and maybe chain of memories (it's kind of a card game) then start playing with 2. All the games in their respective collections are in release order.

While I am frustrated that Nintendo has not fixed the Joy-Con drift issue, I feel compelled to mention what they are doing right. I have sent in at least eight pairs of Joy-Cons (16 individual Joy-Cons) over the last seven years, and Nintendo has replaced every one of them with a turn around time of about a week and a half. I have also sent them two Switches, one with a bad screen, one with rails that wouldn’t lock in the Joy-Cons, and have had absolutely no issues with the RMA process. I have never paid a penny for any of these issues, and Nintendo has always been pleasant to talk with on the phone. Nintendo is by no means perfect, but I do believe they have one of the better RMA policies and processes in the industry.

Retro cloud saves would be a game changer for me to jump into more devices. It's already a bummer between my Deck and my PC

I find it really funny to run a Switch emulator for a Switch game on an Anbernic device only to nope out because of lack of cloud saves. Repeating the opening hours of very long RPGs has been almost exclusively my entire history with JRPGs and I hope as tech advances we get some focus on cloud saves, but also cross saves and remakes that include chapter select

Playing 2.8 Dream Drop Distance HD. I am one of the few who tried every way to play this franchise on the Steam Deck. I got through 1.5 and 2.8 I agree. Cloud save between my PC and Steam Deck has been a blessing Just play them in order. Become confused like the rest of us Nerd Nest 🤪

Bringing up RMA stuff, my Steam Deck had a dead pixel (just one) and I messaged Valve about it, and they paid for it to be sent in and replaced the screen. One of the best RMA experiences I've ever had, and a lot of companies don't cover a dead pixel under warrenty unless it's a cluster of them or something. It's another reason I'm glad I went with the Deck, I would like to have more multiplayer games playable on it, but in terms of updates and customer care I don't think it gets better (at least right now) than the Deck.

Before the devs repackaged it the most recent Hitman trilogy was very confusing on what to buy because the games are inner connected and you had to purchase things in a certain order so someone made a Steam guide on what you had to purchase. Now after the repackage it is now very easy to purchase Hitman and get all of the content.

@@NerdNest Now that you mention it. The game seems to prefer the auto-save and I have to load my most recent manual save when I start a session. This may be a bug, but my saves are all there and syncing across devices. Hopefully this helps.

KH isn’t confusing they call it 1.5/2.5/2.8 to lead up into three if you need help playing the games just play them In the order they released all the games on 1.5 first followed by all the games on 2.5 all the games on 2.8 then finally 3 as the last game.

@@devonpack906 actually if u wanna play chronologically by kh story thats not the correct order to play order should be story chronologically unioncross and dark road videos on u tube first then birth by sleep birth by sleep 0.2 fragment passage KH 1 chain if memories 358/2 days KH2 recoded dream drop distance kh3 then melody of memory which gives hints to upcoming kh4 but so will missing link and has some back story of kairis memory. Resident evil has a kinda complicated timeline too with certain newer games released in a earlier timeline storywise as older games. but if anyones confused on chronologically play and understand kh story the above is the true timeline.

@@willbirkin666 it’s not the chronically correct order the story in convoluted. And would require dark road and union cross but you won’t understand 90% of those until you make it to 3. I’m not trying to bog bill and Russ having to watch the synopsis of those 2 mobile games. If you wanted to get technical like you said birth by sleep should be first game they play then play KH1 all the way through then do 0.2 passage imo makes a bit more sense as a whole since 0.2 is so short. Then watch 358/2 then play through birth by sleep then the order you listed with 2, watch recoded, and Dream drop distance into 3 with dlc would be most optimal playthrough issue is you start jumping around to the different combat improvemtns and going back to KH1 is rough after playing anything after KH2 bc responsiveness isn’t there with Sora’s movement in later games

Kh does not run well at all on LeGO at all. I'm reading similar issues on Ally, but i don't own one. Apparently, it's an issue with the chipset alongside 7000 series gpus.

I’ve loved being able to tether my SD to my phones hotspot while I’m out and about and can jump into Diablo 4 for a couple min to down the world boss then hop back off.

Xbox warrior here, my reason for not liking MS first party games to Playstation is because that makes Playstation the only console one needs to own for non-Nintendo games. When any company has a monopoly on a large market ALL consumers lose out. So this may not concern you as a PC elite gamer, but any CONSOLE warriors should be concerned. But yes, as an Xbox warrior I have not been happy in many years... since the Xbox hasn't been great for many years xD otherwise I feel like I'm forever taunted and insulted lol. Also I did RMA a device to Asus. It was a router though, but it was extremely easy to do, they even offered to help me set it up again.

Honestly? Play the GBA game first, then play the ps2 games, then the ps3 games then the ps4 games then you are caught up enough to play the REST of the games LMFAO! (its funny because this order of operation would work as ridiculous as it is) the ps4 game Kingdom Hearts All-in-One Package - PlayStation 4 has 10 classic games that are made to do just that (catch you up in 1 game) maybe try that as an alternative as it may be the better economic option. (bout 40$ usd)

I appreciate that Gamers Nexus does their investigative journalism on companies when they mess up, but I don't like how Steve handles some of them. Just my opinion. I recognize others feel differently about it.

My experience with ASUS their products since the pandemic has had a huge drop in QC issues. They lost my trust TBH. I used to be all about ROG/ASUS and still have a few products left over but when its time to replace, I won't be going back to ASUS.

Exclusives are a loss for EVERYONE. Companies are in serious denial to think they are good in any form eventually this will hit Nintendo also as their games are about to NOT be enough to justify buying weak af hardware at $300+.. its already starting which is why there is a huge portion of folks that prefer to emulate Nintendo

I agree id so play More Nintendo games even if they came out with a cloud system and had to pay a membership or whatever shit Nintendo web browser or even 3rd party launcher lol. I just never cared to Buy a switch and then games when Im major PC driven after pretty much leaving Xbox for almost a decade. I think the subscription price just to play game pass sucks because I literally never use a console bought the Series S for over 2 yrs and barely touch it. Especially because I've been very conservative on conscience when it comes to power usage and keeping my electric bill low especially during the summer. That's why I love the deck over all other PC handhelds.

For customers yeah 💯 But the companies only see money Console makers wants to sell hardware, so they can make more money with software and subscriptions by getting you into the ecosystem. If like Nintendo made their games available on every platform, they would sell a lot of games, but lose ecosystem money in the process. Epic games seems like a good deal because its only 8% vs steams 30% paycut, plus epic pays for timed exclusive. Good thing about PC that exclusives doesn't really exists, you have access to it while on console you locked in

10:31 I played all of Destiny 1 on my XBox and over 180 hours of D2. I quit D2 because of the shit interface. I just couldn’t keep up

I quit when it seemed like you had to keep buying and buying and buying expansions just to keep up. Every time I turned around it was like, give us another $40 oh, and we are going to lock you out of stuff you already paid for a while back. They lost me after all that. Don’t get me wrong, I love expansions for the games I enjoy, but they took it to a new level.

I personally don't mind the Epic Game Store, but I know there is a lot of hate towards it for its game exclusively push, and just some distrust with it. Steam also has a native Linux & Mac launcher where Epic does not. You can get Epic and most Windows Based launchers going at least on Linux relatively easy however, using the Lutris and/or Heroic programs but it is not officially supported like it is on Steam.

I love Epic Games store. I also love Steam. But I don't get why people don't like Epic Games... Dude, they literally give away free games (including BIG ones) every week... Like I got GTA V and Guardians of the Galaxy for free. Their interface is sleek and cool with a black finish. Playing online with friends in coop work great. To top it all off, thanks to coupons I got on Epic in the past during their sales, I got games for the lowest price possible... like 3 years ago I bought Hades for $8 CAD and Horizon Zero Dawn complete for $16 CAD 3 yrs ago. So ppl are weird to complain about Epic Games Store. It's simply AWESOME 👍
