MY STORY:
In 2016 I had been in law enforcement for 7 years.
I was not in control of my schedule, I was hardly making any money, and I was away from my family working nights and holidays. I was capable of more, and I was silently suffering. I knew I was selling myself and my family short.
I started Florida Turf Pros as a side hustle in 2016 before going full time in 2017.
My lawn business changed my life.
I control my own schedule, control my own income, and I am proud of what I have built; a business that supports me, my family, and some employees.

This is 100% correct. Once they find out you're trustworthy, if you tell them something needs to be done and give them a price, most customers will just tell you to get it done. I've had a couple tell me, just make it beautiful and tell me how much. They're my favs.

I'm guilty of this, I think they will tell me when they want it done - NO, they don't and then it becomes your problem later on. Great video Jonathan.

Best advice you can give, Keep your eyes open and be proactive. I have several clients that have told me , if you see it, you get it, with an additional charge.

I’m learning this the hard way now…… took over a lot of properties for a guy that was moving out of state. Let the weeds go in the beds and it’s crazy! Then half the customers said ya the other guy use to put down pre emergent in the beds twice a year! Rookie mistake at its finest

I agree I just started asking people if they need this or that done as long as it is something I can do. My client's are happy and I make good money at the same time

I 100% agree. Really though, what's to disagree with? I did however wait on around half of my first year clients to contact me about weeds in beds and shrub trimming. Id trim their shrubs at the beginning of the year and give them a cheap price because I didn't know any better. Then three months later they'd have me trim again and when finished they'd hand me a payment that was the same as the last time I did it but this time I'd worked 2X longer than the previous trim job. They didn't know any better because I wasn't communicating with them. Only happened a couple of times but that was enough. I thought to myself "You've got to communicate better and be more proactive with the clients" And so I did and the clients respected my reliability and professionalism. Also made way more money and have enjoyed my career even more.
