@@The_DC_Kid Yes it is. Upheaval lifts the crust upward from the bottom. Water erodes the uplifted crust so the uplift is downlowered from the top. Water washes it into the oceans. The oceans floors gather crust material and get heavier and pushing the ocean floors downward. When an ocean crust meats a landmass crust the ocean crust is what gets subducted. When two oceans crust meets the heavier ocean crust gets subducted. The more crust that is suducted the more material the mantle has to cause upheaval and/or volcanoes. Like it or not, erosion by water or air is part of the geological process.

Yep, the animals around Mammoth Hot Springs are gonna love the relative peace and quiet for the summer. I lived next to Glacier park from 2002 till this spring. One issue is going to be the winter snow and temps. It will be very difficult to impossible to do road construction after November

So very true..... I used to be a seasonal park ranger back in the mid to late 80's. A majority of our calls were usually animal / human interactions, and primarily it was initiated by visitors. Like the guy who tried to put his 6 year old on a bison for a photo opportunity. Or several tourists trying to feed moose. Or even exiting the walkway to get a closer look at a thermal pool... Or the couple who " accidentally" too close to some grizzly cubs to pet them.....

KSL News is based in Salt Lake City Utah and Yellowstone park is relatively close (5 hours by car or bus and a little over an hour by plane) so they are likely talking about transportation industries like bus/plane fares and companies that sell vacation packages?

Yep, I was in the Poudre canyon and in lyons the day after highwater working with the utility companies to restore them and hauling rock out of a quarry to build an emergency dyke I'm chastines grove to save the fresh water supply pipes that fed a few towns and cities. It was crazy, had to fly in all our tools and power poles with a helicopter! Horrible tragedy but it was incredible to be in the middle of it and see the destruction. Once in a lifetime!
