Use the back of the scribe to tap the underside of the glass along the scribe line until you see a crack appear taking particular attention at the edges then push down firmly off the side of a table using a tea towel to spread the hand pressure.

Rich. If you rolled the putty in some newspaper or even better, brown paper it would have taken some of the oil out of the putty before you used it and then been easier to work. Hate cutting glass. You’re certainly not alone in breaking it when you try to cut it. It’s harder when it’s old glass as well. Almost always will break once it gets a few months old. Many professional glaziers will refuse to cut old glass

@paulf2529
@paulf2529 10 ай бұрын
You would normally only score one side of regular float glass, the trick is to use an even pressure on the glass cutter. It's something that takes practice, with experience you know the right noise when you are scoring it correctly. You can then either break over a straight edge by aligning the score with the edge and pushing down or lightly taping the back of the glass to start the crack and then nibble/ snap the waste off if it is a very thin strip, some pliers with the jaws padded with tape works for this but this is hard if the glass is old.

So Richard I know nothing about farming, I’ve learnt a little bit from watching you guys. What part of the maze plant do the cow’s consume and would the corn 🌽 on the cob be fit for human consumption? Ps do you have transgender cows on the farm because you kept referring to the cow that broke the window as he? Have a Lekker weekend and regards to the Family/Farm Manager.

I hate watching people doing what they know to be a poor and hurried job and then making excuses. The fact that it is a milking parlour is not a reason not to spend an extra couple of minutes pulling a smoth face on the front putty.

@matthewshaw3718 why not literally take an extra 5 mins and do the job tidily. It's not like the task requires any more tools than the putty knife Richard used. Literally a couple of pasess more with the knife and a bit of pressure on the blade and the putty would be tidy and smooth.
