How did Yehoshua become Jesus? How did Yeru-Shalayim become Jerusalem? Unless the proper pronunciation of Ijebu is Iyebu?

Circumstantial at best. Yes, the term Jerusalem evolved from Jebu. However "Salem" means Peace. No evidence that it means or meant "Isale" and even if it did, no evidence that it means the same Isale as the Yoruba word. This is how some Edo people claim links to the Edo dynasty of Japan. This is what my old teacher called "wuruwuru to the answer"
@PermanentWater

it is very easy to debunk this. Just look at the map of Jerusalem. Jerusalem is situated on 2 hills. One is Mount Moriah and the other is the Temple Mount. There is no Isale in Jerusalem, though there is a valley running between the 2 hills. Then to top it off, There is no 'J' sound in Hebrew. the real name is Yeru-Shalayim. Possibly named after the Canaanite God Shalayim but later re-etymologised into Hebrew as City of Peace (Salem)..

@@PermanentWater check out the original name of Jerusalem. It's was called Jebu. Hence the Ijebu tribe but the I is silent they call themselves Jebu. They are the jebusites mentioned in the bible. Plus they have had the Hebrew traditions for thousands of years before the Europeans because those are African traditions. The tribe King David defeated were the jebusites the were the original habitants or Jerusalem which was called Jebu look it up. The specific sect of the Ijebu tribe aka jebusites he defeated called them selves Ijebu - Sale or pronounced Jebu-Sale. King David interpreted that as Jerusalem.

Ijebu has nothing to do with Jebus or Jebusite. Mr. Reno if you were knowledgable you would know that the actual semitic name is Yevusi, it is through translations from hebrew to aramaic to greek to latin to english that you now have "Jebusite". the settlement in question is correctly called "Yevusi" the "j" sound is a recent addition in English, before "j" in words sounded like "y". And this has nothing to do with Ijebu (which means Ije ebu - "Voyage of the waves" as the Ijebu ancestors were seafarers) No disrespect but you have not yet read any original scriptures if you did you would know that "Jebus" is not even an original name

If y is J.Yevusi will be Jevusi, maybe V is gb. Your point agreed but you disagree.

That's interesting about Ijebu meaning Voyage of the waves, and how the Ijebu were seafarers, because Jebus/Jebusites in the Bible were canaanites and the canaanites were known as expert seamen, shipwrights, and tradesmen/merchants.
@mch7933
@mch7933 3 жыл бұрын
@@isesise2658 I am not aware of the Yevusi being expert seamen in the bible, they are rather mountain dwellers. But normally historians don't rely on the Bible as the Bible is often misleading if you follow it as history. The identity of the Yevusi and where they fit in actual history is still unclear. Some say they were Amorites, some say Hittites or Hurrians. And these people were not renowned seafarers. Even if they were so? Are we trying to connect all seafaring cultures now? If so the next thing we might as well claim ijebu are vikings Howeber

@@mch7933 - This vid is talking about how the Ijebu may be linked to the Jebus/Jebusites (canaanite tribe), so the context of the video eliminates other seafarers. No need to talk about other seafarering people. We are talking about the Ijebu and the Jebus/Jebusites. According to what you broke down, the Ijebu ANCESTORS were seafarers. What I know about the canaanites doesn't just come from the Bible, but what historians, archeologist, and Anthropologist were able to gather through their research about the canaanite-phonecian, and it just so happens that they (canaanites) were seafarers/seamen, shipwrights, and traders/merchants, and the Jebus/Jebusites just so happen to be a canaanite-phonecian tribe.
@mch7933
@mch7933 3 жыл бұрын
@@isesise2658 lol you claimed the yevusi were seafarers according to the bible therefore this connects them to ijebu who were seafarers so this does not eliminate other seafaring peoples, it infact includes them. This means that if seafaring is what you want to use to connect ijebu to yevusi , we might as well add the Vikings, phoenicians and polynesians (best seafarers of the ancient world). unfortunately though, the bible does not call the yevusi seafarers, rather mountain dwellers. [Numbers 13:29 The Amalekites dwell in the land of the south: and the Hittites, and the Jebusites, and the Amorites, dwell in the mountains: and the Canaanites dwell by the sea, and by the coast of Jordan] And asides the bible there is no other place where the yevusi (or jebusite) people are mentioned. Most scholars suggest the bible might have been refering to Hurrians, others suggest a part of hittites or amorites. But whether bible or historicl records ..the outcome is the same : Nowhere are the Yevusi (or jebusites) described as seafarers
