So let me make sure I understand this. So the black hole of interest initially was coming towards us. Now that the jets are pointing at us then that would mean the black hole is now moving away from us?

Well, any "NEARBY" Planets passing through it would probably be Cleansed of any type of life-forms since its blasting out X-ray and gamma radiation but as for the Earth it's so far away that even a major blast wouldn't reach us with enough strength to do any damage. This is a BS version of this news story full of inconsistencies and fake news. If you want science news I would not go to one of these 3rd-rate media sites to get it. They put out big headlines to draw attention for advertising purposes and don't really care about being truthful. Kind of funny they never talk about the fact that Sagittarius A, the super massive black hole at the Milky Way center is tilted in the direction of the Earth itself but since it's not very active the jets are not powerful enough to pass through our electromagnetic field. The Milky Way galaxy, like many others, is wobbling like a melted record (LP) which could be from an interaction with the gravitational field around surrounding the Great Magellanic Cloud Galaxy or maybe still getting it's shit together from some long past collision with another galaxy. Most galaxies wobble but because of the short time we have been watching them it's not that obvious. We know more about other galaxies than we do about ours because so much of it has been blocked to us for so long but with JWST we hope to learn much more about our nearby surroundings. Within the next decade they're going to put up a much larger mirror that will give us a very wide view of the galaxy compared to the little specks we are capable of concentrating on at this time. Galaxy/Black Hole in this story is more than likely wobbling very badly as the material around it is trying to come back into alignment with the Central black holes rotation which could take millions or billions of years.

As mentioned, the observation was done between 2 years. If there is a detectable change of the beam angle, the whole galaxy must have rotate quite a considerable amount. Given the distance from earth, and that we can detect it, is that really possible from our current law of physics ?

Most people don't know that Einstein said that singularities are not possible. In the 1939 journal "Annals of Mathematics" he wrote "the essential result of this investigation is a clear understanding as to why the Schwarzchild singularities (Schwarzchild was the first to raise the issue of General relativity predicting singularities) do not exist in physical reality. Although the theory given here treats only clusters whose particles move along circular paths it does seem to be subject to reasonable doubt that more general cases will have analogous results. The Schwarzchild singularities do not appear for the reason that matter cannot be concentrated arbitrarily. And this is due to the fact that otherwise the constituting particles would reach the velocity of light." He was referring to the phenomenon of dilation (sometimes called gamma or y) mass that is dilated is smeared through spacetime relative to an outside observer. This is illustrated in a common 2 axis relativity graph with velocity on the horizontal line and dilation on the vertical. Even mass that exists at 75% light speed is partially dilated. General relativity does not predict singularities when you factor in dilation. Einstein is known to have repeatedly spoken about this. Nobody believed in black holes when he was alive for this reason. Wherever you have an astronomical quantity of mass, dilation will occur because high mass means high momentum. There is no place in the universe where mass is more concentrated than at the center of a galaxy. According to Einstein's math, the mass at the center of our own galaxy must be dilated. In other words that mass is all around us. This is the explanation for the abnormally high rotation rates of stars in spiral galaxies, the missing mass is dilated mass. According to Einstein's math, galaxies with very, very low mass would not have dilated mass because they do not have enough mass at the center to achieve relativistic velocities. To date, 5 galaxies with very low mass have been confirmed to show no signs of dark matter. This is virtual proof that dilation is the governing phenomenon in galactic centers, there can be no other realistic explanation for this fact.

Since we are all in constant motion relativistic to each other, these jets won’t be “pointing” to us very long, if this is truly pointing at us now. Additionally the “now” is the most important part. Since the light of any object is where it was in respect to it’s position in the past, in regards to its distance from us now, it will move away from us in due time/space.

Maybe Galactus did it. I'm sorry but there is a ton of videos saying the light we're seeing is from thousands of years. If we see anything right now the image would be thousands of years old. The correct assumption should be WE JUST NOTICED IT. The other thing is that we live in a age where everything we learn tomorrow will question what we know from yesterday. It does not mean we need to change the way we live. It means that NEXT WEEK we will then learn something else that would question what we discover tomorrow.

QUESTIONS (Photons): Okay, 'wavelength' and 'frequency' appear to exist: 'Wavelength': How long the photon is in 'space'. 'Frequency': How many cycles per second in 'space'. 1. What exactly is 'space' that the photon exists in, OR does the photon itself make up 'space'? 2. What exactly is 'time' that there can be 'cycles per second'? 3. A photon is usually depicted in a sine wave pattern with the 'e' and 'm' energy fields 90 degrees to each other. The 'e' and 'm' energy fields go out together and come back in together, over and over and over, doing so even across the vast universe as far as we can see. Where does the energy in the energy fields go when both the 'e' and 'm' energy fields go to zero? And what causes the 'e' and 'm' energy fields to come back to 'full' from zero? Over and over again over vast distances.

One small correction (at the very end of the video): it is not because of the redshift that this jet poses no danger to us, but simply because of the distance.

Fascinating, I’m glad we’re not going to be sucked into that black hole! Nor be blasted by the radiation of those jets!

Fun Fact: "perpendicularly" and "at right angles" are both 15 characters, so why not use the second?

Since the black hole is 600 million light years away from us doesn't that mean that it didn't all of a sudden change direction but that 600-million years ago, it all of a sudden changed direction? Like Nibbler told Fry, "In a thousand years, I'll get right on it!"

Black hole was quite sure that Earth will be at this position after so many years. With trillions of Black Holes in our universe, I am not surprised. Damn light travels so slowly yet it appears fast to us.
