2 жыл бұрын"A Black Woman, a Black Mother" is part of The Play Writers Festival: a consummating showcase of works developed by participants in a professional development playwrighting course led by Long Wharf Theatre's remarkable Andrew W. Mellon Foundation Playwrights-in-Residence, Mildred Ruiz-Sapp and Steven Sapp of UNIVERSES. The Play Writers course was geared toward writers of all levels with the goal of nurturing the dramatic writing skills of participants and deepening our ties to Greater New Haven’s keen pool of talent.

Ife this is beautiful. I want people to stop romanticizing the “Strong Black Woman”. Just like your poem says we’re not strong because we’re super human. We’ve just had no other choice. We were put in that position and it was either be strong or crumble and crumbling was not an option.
