This is a common trope with Chinese manga, I've read 20 different versions of this. Loser guy gets mystic ocular powers, uses it to buy rare items that look cheap, bumps in a girl who either wants the same item hes about to buy or she's getting assaulted. Protagonist will buy the item and the girl will demand proof to which she'll take him to her famous grandfather who's a master expert. They'll both go to a market to test the protags skill and after picking an amazing item so random guy will call it luck not skill and he'll be shown to be a rival merchant to the grandfather. Inevitably they will compete and the rival gets embarrassed and becomes a stepping stone for the MC to establish himself while also getting a ton of money and assets from the rival. Then its just a rinse and repeat of the MC being offended and proving everyone wrong until he eventually becomes the most powerful and influential person around
