Life 25 years ago along the Rajang River in Sarawak, Borneo. I wonder whether it has changed much meanwhile. A viewer writes that the Iban boy's name is Martin. Sadly Lee Ming Dan was killed in an accident in 2012.

I never visited Sarawak. At 84 I do not travel anymore except on internet ! I made the clips as a service to Sarawak and Kalimantan viewers.

Michael, Thankyou so much for posting and sharing all these old videos on You Tube. I am a Sarawakian (ex-Miri), now living in New Zealand. Most of the scenes shown on your videos brought back many fond memories of Borneo.

I was in Serian (Div 1) in 1967, and many of these clips and images are familiar to me. I went back to Kuching and Serian in 2011, so many things had changed. I carry fond memories of the wonderful people.

Being a mixed blend of Dayak and other races, this documentary is very educational as I've only seen the more modernized longhouses. watching this, people may not believe that could be true

Only the few poor Dayaks lead this type of life. If you come to Sarawak today, you'd see many concrete and modern ceiling longhouses along the Malaysia's longest river, the Rajang River.

I think its pretty much the same nowadays. Unless you are rich and have a helicopter, the motor boat is the way to go in Sarawak I guess this was a time when Malaysia was less known to the world, thus the video has an exotic vibe to it:)
