This traditional Ethiopian wedding is the one I can relate to out of all the other ethnic wedding ceremonies I’ve watched. It’s not crazy lavish or excessive. It honors the Christian faith which I uphold as well. The bride and groom truly look like kings and queen.

Gifts are not a show off. It's considered dowry that's is a token of appreciation to the parents of the bride and bride to be. It's tradition that we practice from our ancestors. In some African cultures like in Uganda alot of expensive gifts are offered. But it depends what your groom can offer, something that is agreed upon between two families.

Mimi and Kassay may your marriage be blessed. You are mist amazing ethiopian I have ever seen mainly how you embraced the culture. I must say this wedding is the most representing as authentic as it can be. The groom to stay away from his wife until the wedding day? My God no other groom ever ever display this kind of manner these days. Kassay you are a true gentleman. You need to be recognized as an exemplary to others. You are the real deal, a true descendant of the axumite empire. I am impressed how you hold on to our tradition, your patients, waiting as an engaged man keeping your fiancee, your deep committed love to mimi is amazing. Equally, I am touched how calm and serene mimi is respecting and waiting for her fiancee till the wedding day comes. Everything is done according to how how parents got married. Bless you! I pray this tradition continues.
