A Broken Power Adapter, Freaked Out Cats, Grandma Feral’s Pillow - Lucky Ferals S3 E1

5 жыл бұрынDay 731. Stella got brushed. Simba got brushed. Boo got brushed. Stella and Boo were laying on the bed together. The power adaptor for my laptop broke. The cats tried Healthy Gourmet Ocean Fish and Tuna Entree Cat Food.
Day 732. I went food shopping and bought cat food and raw meat to make home made cat food. Hydrox was hanging out at the back door. The cats were freaked out by something in the yard.
Day 733. Stella likes to sit at the kitchen table with me. Simba took a ride in the stroller and hung out with me on the patio.
Day 734. Simba reminded me that I forgot to feed the cats crunchies before bedtime. Grandma Feral’s cat pillow manifested a look-alike cat at the door. Hydrox was hanging out in the bushes. Boo got pets on the bed.

I'm not the only who loves these videos. Monica cat will sit on front of the TV and watch too. It's the funniest thing! I'll just let these videos play out one after the other, and she will sit and watch endlessly until I turn off the TV for bed!

Indeed they do -- but Simba's eyes really lit up at the mention of crunchies: "Now _that's_ what I'm talking about, dear Lady!" 😉😸🍖 And the new intro for Season 3 is a stone delight: cross-pawed, elegant Stella; sweet, reserved Splash (almost mimicking Stella's pose); easygoing, friendly Simba; ruggedly independent Hydrox...and King Boo Velvet, glorying in his regal pose on the Lady's sofa. Well done, dear Lady, in capturing the current essence of each beloved kitteh.

I had a deer run out in front of my car for the first time ever a couple nights ago. Luckily it was a quiet road so I could break sharply. Was a beautiful deer but scared the life out of me 😨

Love, love, LOVE the new opening! Of course Stella sittin' like a lady has to be up there, such a pretty girl. I don't think Boo has attitude so much as he has DAD-itude towards Simba now. "I"m your Pops, what I say goes!" Glad they're getting along better, and Stella and Boo can recline on the bed without any fuss. My goodness, that was a beautiful deer, I was hoping it wouldn't get hit when I saw it on your lawn---too close to the street. So much kitty goodness here, thanks for the new vlog!

Kneading is what they do to Momma cat to get more milk to come out, It gives them a great sense of security, Sometimes, they get feeling insecure for some reason. And attention is needed ASAP. lol

I can't tolerate hot weather that well either, FWIW (especially since I underwent chemotherapy in summer 2016), so I hear you; hug your heavily-shedding girl for me, after you brush her thoroughly. 😊😸

I like the new opening photo change,nice to have fresh photos for it.Simba is the brave fellow for going outside..but also speaks of his trust in you..It seems Stella has PTSD from her time outside and gives no thought or wanting to step foot out there again.It is funny your early warning system in the cats of something unusual in the yard or around the house.It was interesting the insight in the cats like splash for example you were giving..i know the camera makes them behave different and you dont capture everything so it is nice to hear of some of the traits.

Don't think it was deer poop. When I was in the northwest, the poop along deer trails was ellipsoid pellets about 2 inches long. Maybe a really big raccoon? Stella LOVES being brushed! Everyone but Splash likes pets. Splash does sometimes, but isn't sure. Hydrox, of course, is skeptical. One of the ferals who visit me looks like Simba, and after waiting for me to leave, eventually ignored me and ate about 3 feet away. A white persian stared at me with wide blue eyes from 20 feet away then ran away when I didn't leave. It's sad that one of ferals' early lessons is that humans are dangerous.

Hopefully in time your ferals may learn you are no danger to them and only want to give them food or help them if needed. Thankyou for feeding your ferals they need any help they can get and your love will help them as well. We send plenty of love to your ferals

I like the new intro pics especially Stella's, she's such a lady 😻 After I brush my cats they will then lick themselves to finish the job. Those brushes are so gratifying to see all the fur when you're done👍 My cats LOVE that Blue Buffalo food and the turkey & chicken flavor too. They split a can between the 6 of them with a little can pumpkin on top plus water for their snack at night. P.S. deer poop looks like a pile of round nuggets...very peculiar looking kind of like rabbit poo only bigger😉

Stella's feeling very kneady today. She and Boo - and everyone else - look so gorgeous and pampered in the new intro - very well done. She didn't expect you to get up in the night and catch her on the table - curses! Simba was so happy in the mobile catio. Boo struts because he is sure he is the most loved cat in the LF household. That was a good price for a lot of produce. Did you also freeze delicious home made people food for yourself, as well as meatballs for the cats?

@@donna-louisecave154 Happily, I think that our gracious hostess takes as good care of herself as she does the kittehs: the Lady's focus on healthy eating seems to have begun with the way she feeds herself, generalizing easily from there to the way she feeds the kittehs she loves and supports. That tableful of delicious-looking produce will surely make her a number of healthy, tasty salads, smoothies and other delightful vegan dishes, no question.

Besides, there are few culinary pleasures more refreshing than crunching on good, crisp, cool vegetables; you might call baby carrots my own purrsonal answer to crunchies. 😉

@@LuckyFerals Yes, I know you do, that's why I was thinking that frozen blended veg cubes would be a cool way to stock up on seasonal overproduction, to go into smoothies or gazpachos. You could make yourself fruit or veggie popsicles, too! Being only one person, I have a hard time using as much as I'm tempted to buy. My latest summer feast is eating hummus or guacamole with slices of cucumber, carrot, or zucchini.

Deer poop looks like a pile slightly squished balls about an inch across. If it looked like cat poop but bigger then it might have been a dog or a coyote.

Describing Boo as "strutting" is accurate, sure (where he doesn't swagger outright -- Boo got swag 😉🐱); Simba does indeed prance, in his exuberant way; and Stella walks with a dignified, fiercely queenly purrpose...but, while you certainly see them more than we do, I honestly don't think I have ever witnessed Splashie "scampering," a verb I'm far more inclined to use in describing the movements of squirrels than those of the deliberate, dutiful Guardian of Feralia. Somehow, "scamper" seems too uncomplicatedly light-hearted for sweet, serious Splash -- "scramble," sure, when he is startled into flight...but the Splash revealed in these videos, dear Lady, seems more to me a kitteh of quiet, unshowy, even elegant motion, of even, deliberate gait. If he indeed scampers in play, however, I'm happy for him that Splash can be joyful as well as serious in his way of moving in the world. All that said: how about Hydrox's typical gait? Even when seen striding across the patio, there seems to me something fundamentally stealthy in the Grandmaster's walk; what say you?

I just had to replace my laptop battery. It went bad swelled up so much is cracked open the case. It pulled the screw mounts right out of their sockets. I had to expoy them back into place. So I got a majorly swolen battery that could explode at any time and no place to dispose of it. So I brought it into work and left it in a random filing cabinet. Laptop is all fixed though. It's better than new. I put in a new battery and swapped out the hard drive with a solid state drive. It's so much faster now.

@@LuckyFerals HP ENV x360 Convertible. The solid state drive made an enormous difference. Instead of cloning my old disk onto the new one I did a complete fresh install which probably helped too. A couple weeks ago I had to replace the hard disk in the laptop I use for my media center so I had all the installs for the software I needed ready and was able to rebuild the laptop very quickly.

Oh no, she broke out the kitty prisoner transportation van again. Simba's thinking "boy, what we have to do around here to earn our room and board; this is so embarrassing. I hope Splash and Boo didn't see me being pushed around in this contraption." Hydrox refused to look at the transportation van and scurried off.

Its the look on Stella's face everytime Simba is outside in the pet stroller you can see that LF is in trouble when she returns Simba. Simba and Splash do not leave the house her boys are house cats! If it was Boo in the stroller Stella does not care as much. Hydrox hides in the bushes laughing at Boo and hoping LF never tries to put him in there. Its hard being a tough tomcat if you get seen in a pet stroller.

So about a week ago, while checking the mailbox, I saw a small orange kitten peering out of a hole in the porch at me. I put out some water and a little of Biggles food for him and any brothers or sisters in residence. The next morning I saw Momma Kitty nursing three kittens on the porch. I eventually discovered that there were four kittens in all, an orange tabby, a gray with orange mottling, a gray one and a tiny black one. Momma Kitty is black with orange mottling and there seems to be a daddy that I've seen around for a few years and called Tux because of his black with white coloring. I've been feeding them twice a day (morning and evening) and built a simple summer shelter for them using a plastic storage tub and a couple of beach towels. My guess is that the kittens were about 3 or 4 weeks old when I discovered them. After two days my downstairs neighbor also discovered the kittens and not wanting to wait for them to come out of hiding stuck her cell phone down into their hiding place to get pictures of frightened kittens. Of course I'd wanted pictures too but I was willing to wait a few weeks for them to get more adventurous. The next morning I saw Momma Kitty leading her brood down the driveway to if not safer at least less compromised quarters. I haven't seen the kittens since then but Momma Kitty still comes around twice a day for food. Yesterday I was late for work (I was moving slow because I'd thrown my back out) and Momma Kitty was waiting for her breakfast. She watched me from about fifteen feet away as I filled her water dish and opened a can for her (I'd bought small cans and kitten chow for the little ones so she is getting that for now). I even got to watch her eat as I waited for my ride to work. I'm hoping that as her kittens get bigger she will bring them around again if only for the free food.

Well that didn't take too long. Momma Kitty was waiting for dinner just before dark this evening. I was filling the water dish when I saw her head pop up at the end of the porch. She disappeared when she saw me but didn't go far. Once the dishes were ready and I walked off of the porch she wasted no time getting to the canned food. I was standing in the driveway watching her eat and telling her softly what a good momma she was when two of the kittens joined her, the gray mottled one and the little black one. She even let me stand in the driveway (about twelve feet away but through the railing on the porch) while she and the kittens ate. It also looks like the beach towels in the shelter have been moved around a bit.

@@blamb42 Well done, Bob -- you're truly doing a _mitzvah_ (blessing) for this feline family. All good to them & to you, and hugs to Biggles. (And FWIW, I feel you re the back issues: my degenerating lumbar discs cause severe enough chronic pain that I draw disability as a result -- take care of yourself, man, especially with all these kittehs depending on you. 😊🐱)

@@semperfi818- I don't have a "back problem" even though I am getting older. I was riding my bicycle home from work the other day and when I came to an intersection I tried to put my right foot down on the curb so I could stay in the saddle and be ready to go when I got a chance. I misjudged the curb but by the time my foot hit the street (about 4 or 5 inches lower) I was already going over. Now if I had just let myself fall I probably would have gotten a couple of bruises and/or a couple of scrapes and that would have been the end of it. Instead I twisted and tried to lunge to the left to regain my balance and that is where I pulled a few muscles in my lower back. I'll be fine in a few days but remember, it's not the crime that lands you in prison, it's the cover up.

I believe that Grandma Feral objected to that suggestion, protesting that "That's not a cute name!" -- and while I disagree with her assessment, I understand why she might not want to name a vibrant, friendly kitteh after a piece of household decor.

I've been watching these videos since 2016. I've seen the cats hiss. Maybe seen them growl once or twice. And purr. Simba's the purring champion. But I never hear the cats meow. Just plain meows. Do they do that? For four cats, they really are very quiet. I had a male cat marked almost exactly like Stella. He was basically quiet, but he would meow if you talked to him first. Even if all you did was say "Hi" to him. He would give you a little "Hi" back in the form of a very short meow. I just don't hear anything like that from Stella, Simba, Splash, and Boo.

Cats meow only to communicate with people, generally about food. They learnt to meow after finding humans can not 'speak' cat. Cats use body language mainly or little chirping sounds and purrs in family groups. Look at how their bigger cousins communicate cheetahs and leopards are good examples. Our feral friends learn to adapt quickly and become very vocal when asking for food. Former ferals may seem very quiet to some people but they are closer to how cats evolved in nature. I love my cats and over the years have found just watching your cat you can learn some of their language as much as by listening. Give it a go at sometime you have nothing to lose.

@@donna-louisecave154 Thanks for replying! Yes, I was aware of the theory that cats only meow to humans -- that it is not necessary between themselves. But in their world (Lady Ferals' house), they do have one human to deal with on an everyday basis. I would think the camera would have caught many meows in the daily videos. One thing about meowing that I disagree with is that it is only used to ask for food. I have observed cats meowing for all kinds of reasons, even after they've eaten and are full. But yes, they do it when humans are present. So, I think the meowing serves all kinds of purposes for them. It can be a no strings attached greeting. It can be pride over an accomplishment (killing a mouse). It can be to tell us that something in the house is wrong. And, it can be used to tell us they don't feel well.

@@wilmtigers meows can be used for various things it depends on the cat. I think LF's cats have taught her a little cat language so she can tell what they want usually. My Oska barely meows for anything she has taught me plenty over the last 13 years she also has taught Cleo as well. Cleo was born a house cat but she is a quiet cat unless theres a problem. All cats are different

Perhaps you've missed quite a few videos as Boo has often meowed for canned food. Simba and Stella only meow when they are upset about something or want something. Simba : my moth gets about (photo), he's not about no more but he hated it wen I put on the grommer glove from jml I think, anyway he hated it but he was ownerless wen I took him on an probly was for a while so he hated it, my old cat panther loved being hovered an I didn't mind doing it to help his coat. Great channel

Crunchies are a real treat and can only be given to a cat by a person who loves them. Simba knows he is loved by LF and she controls the crunchie jar.

Healthy gourmet is sammy's favorite food. I got hit by 4 deer in 2 different cars. One of the cars was totaled. Deers are jerks who should go extinct.

Deers were around before cars and they had no problems until their homes were destroyed by humans. Deer can total cars and drivers should be careful in areas they know deer live. I am not blaming your driving Ash, deer can be startled easily and nature to survive makes them run. Look at it logically the blame is on both humans and the deer at times. Although the deer population problem is purely down to humans killing off the natural predator of deer the wolves. Give Sammy cuddles and kisses, hope he is being a good boy for you.

@@donna-louisecave154 Well there's a little thing called EVOLUTION. It's the deer's own fault for not evolving to not hit cars. Animals that don't evolve go extinct. That's how it works. Like how dinosaurs became birds so they wouldn't go extinct.

@@TabbyTimeOut if deer go extinct there would be no more venison for all the meat lovers out there and less things for humans to hunt just for the fun of it. Plenty of humans will not like the prospect of either thing happening.
