Rome was on the rise, having just subjugated Egypt and expanded their control over the Mediterranean. However, this did not sit well with Kush, who was a long time rival of Egypt and even assisted Rome in their conquest. But when Rome failed to honor most of the deals they made with Kush about land consolidation, Kush decided to get back at Rome. To do this, they sent an offer to Carthage for help, who was more than eager to deny Rome more control in the Mediterranean. They also beseeched the Ardiaei for help too, who's pirating of the naval shipping lanes are being choked out as Rome expands more. Rome soon hear reports of a Kushite and Carthaginian armies marching towards them with an Ardiaei fleet sailing along the coast and staying close to the Carthaginians. Knowing that they need help, Rome call on their vassals of Athens and Nabatea to come to their aid, and they all meet up at the port city of Alexandria. As the Athenian forces finally landed and all forces gathered, Roman troops on the walls can see the armies of Kush, Carthage, and Ardiaei on the horizon. As both armies make siege preparations, it is clear that the fate of Rome's control of Egypt starts here.....

I do love how all these battles show you, why battles didn't happen in real life when people were that evenly matched. Cuz so many casualties on both sides. Attackers would just wait outside for a few months

It did happen, it was just very rare, and in this case casualties were horrible, but especially on the attacker side

Look up a video about the Siege of Jerusalem by the Romans (If im not mistaken) gets you a good image how bloody and desperate sieges can get.

Ah you missed my super cav charge in the back, killing like 200 archers. You can see them die at 27:55, thats why i didnt look at my pikemen.

I'm shouting you out in my steam review. I loved this game, but I never really understood why my battles were always close or why I would lose battles I had the advantage in until I started watching your siege battles. Keep the content coming.

Apollo here is a little tip for Hoplites when you charge them into combat or hold position put them in Hoplite Wall so they last longer and harder to kill and they can get like 100, 200 or even more kills

Do troops die from falling walls? Also, I've been watching this game for years and I'm still trying to understand how the developers created such a good game in 2013
