When I was younger I used to lifeguard for a couple years over at Buccaneer Bay in Weeki Wachee Springs. Even today as a big tourist attraction, the prices are still not as high as this lagoon and you can swim in the beautiful crystal clear spring waters, tube ride down the river, go down the big water slides and can also walk to the other side to visit the park area where you can watch the mermaid show and attend other events. As a Florida resident you can pay a one set price for the seasonal pass and can also bring your own foods and drinks. That's how it should be cause not everyone can afford prices as high as these and I'm sure they would love to see it also!😎😎😎

I think with this kind of thing being still novel, the developers are trying to maximally capitalize on it, recouping their construction costs ASAP. It's understandable, but remember, if nobody comes, they'll be forced to lower entrance fees. (Disney gets by with it because PEOPLE ARE WILLING TO PAY those prices.) Over time, I would expect entrance fees to these fake lagoon beaches to fall, as the facilities age, and as they just want to attract larger crowds (rather than discouraging large crowds with high prices).

They lost me on the can’t bring your own basic water. That should never be restricted in any capacity. I like how Disney makes sure everyone has access to free water.. and they would not stop you from bringing your own. They don’t want serious dehydration issues or heat strokes on their watch.

@reglook1 I'm looking at the video. If you are implying certain ethnic groups are excluded, the video evidence would disprove that notion. The only exclusion here would be those who didn't have the for the fees to use the facilities. That's not discrimination. It's simple reality. The place is in business to make money. These Crystal Lagoons (a trademarked, patented system) aren't cheep to install and maintain. In Texas these things are being built as amenity packages in new communities. A developer has several thousand acres to build homes, shops, green space, parks, schools, etc, and instead of a golf course, they build a Lagoon. It's an interesting concept. But expensive. All of these communities act as HOAs, of course.

Thank you for the video! I live close to epperson and even closer to mirada. One small note...if you go after 3pm, the entry drops to $30. I thought about doing the paddleboarding because I've never done it before. I've looked into it at other places and the prices are not cheap. Also, I wouldn't want to do it in the lakes here because of gaters. Any beach is at least an hour away, so with those things in mind, it might be an option. I do find it expensive for what it is and almost rude that EVERYTHING is extra.

I was turned off by their strict water policy and no food… I’m concerned about the lack of shade by the water. You have to rent everything, it’s ridiculous!! I have a question, do they have lockers? Where would you leave your keys and phone when you go in the water??? Also, do they have showers? How clean are their restrooms??

That's the most common business plan in Texas. Developers with several thousand acres for homes, shops, parks, etc, will put in a Lagoon instead of a golf course. These are all HOA situations so it's considered an amenity, though I believe things like kayak rentals and such cost $$. There's a big one in Prosper, Texas in the Dallas-Ft Worth Metroplex.

Many people can't afford shit like this. It doesn't mean we're cheap...and like the wages most workers of these types of places pay...don't pay enough for the workers to afford these kinds of amenities. Most people in AZ are not wealthy. Rather than playgrounds for the well off, I'd much rather seen Glendale creating community programs that support affordable housing, living wages, and investments in education. Not tax breaks for developers.

Ya they legit just opened i heard the swim up bar is way better bc at epperson the bartenders have to walk out of their back area to come over to tge swim up part and they take forever bc the inside of the bar is always busy and they forget about the swimmers lol. They told us the new one is actually connected so so its easier for them to serve the swimmers. The aquabanas at epperson is mostly in the 21 plus area which it wasnt 21 plus last year and those ones are way better then the 1 or 2 in the all age part for the same price smh . But i think if i was a resident there (my friend had family who bought a house at epperson and we used to get jn for free bc residents dont pay bc they have hoa fees lol) id love it . I looked into buying there last year and prices were less then what im seeing for sale now but still a bit much more then i can reallt afford . Its sad that since 2018 when i moved to florida i could easilu buy a nice new house for less than 200,000 now to find under 400,000 is tough smh

Its too pricey. It should be $50 for the whole day for adults, and $25 for kids. All things included , it should be first come/first serve for the stuff they are currently charging money for like seats/umbrellas, kayaks etc. The only thing they should charge extra for is food/drinks.

My husband and I stopped by about a year ago. There were few people there and there seemed to be a mix of apathy and over the top desperate attitude by the staff we met. I agree the price it’s too high as is and the community growth is slower than I think they initially hoped, mainly due to the economy the past two years. To keep everything going positively, they should re-evaluate their price structures.

I just went to epperson for my daughters bday june 27th and it was 20$ an adult and 15$ per child and then u can get a splash pass for 14$ that includes one hour at the obstacle.course , 1 hour kayaking , 1 hour paddleboard, 1 bumper boat session. The waterslide and swimming was unlimited and was the only thing included in the entry fee lol . We had to bring snacks and drink bc i am diabetic as is my daughters father. They let us take in the one snack and 1 waterbottle but made my 11 yr old daughter dump her ice water . They added a water bike which was 15$ by itself where paddle boarding, kayaking, bumper boats, obstacle course was 5$ each. However i found out after the fact thay we could use our splash pass for water bike imstead of kayaking and paddle board so i think its worth the splash pass for 14$ if you want to do each thing . I paid for 5 tampons at 1$ each -well bc emergencys happen- tmi- and they have those for sale individually lol. I paid 15$ for an umbrella. The aquabana i was gonna get but they changed the cove to ages 21 plus so considering i had 6 kids in our party and 6 18 plus and only 4 21 plus i wasnt gonna pay the 250$ they wanted . I did end up calling to upgrade a child ticket to an adult ticket bc a kid couldnt come and i had a extra adult. I had bought the tickets 3 weeks prior online and they tried to tell me they could not just charge me the extra 5/10$ for the one ticket to go from child to adult. In fact they claimed they would have to cancel my original order and redo it and bc the prices went up since i bought them so i would owe 120$ more just to modify the child to adult ticket smh . So i told them nevermind ill just buy an adult ticket at the door and take the 20$ hit . Well they called back 20 mins later ( after my duaghter found a extra friend last min to go so the child ticket wasnt a loss) to say her manager went ahead and modified the ticket and i owed 10$ for that. I laughed and told them no we figured it out by finding a extra kid who wanted to come so i still needed the kid ticket and id just buy the adult ticket. The staff then said they already modified it so i needed to pay the difference now and when i arrive just buy the child ticket smh . Anyways as much as i love epperson we all got burned pretty bad even with sunblock and a umbrella lol. There is very little shade for sure . The food prices and drink prices were comparable to disney but at least disney lets u bring ur own snacks and drink. Last year i had a friend whose family owned a house in the community and they got us in for free so if i could buy a house in the community id def be going there all the time. Since its expensice to a single mom to 5 kids i will go on special occasions only. The houses arent terrible in price but im not sure how much they pay for hoa lol. But ya good video . Again maybe prices are higher at the one in the video but otherwise id say ur spot on in this review .
