@PhoenixSlam Yes Phoenix, one of them is the Isle of Arran ferry. Each of the ferries I travelled on seemed to have their own identity, some more welcoming than others. Glad you enjoyed the memories.

Thanks @Destiny97531 ,I'm sorry it makes you sad. It's haunting music isn't it. I'm glad you asked about the music, because it made me go looking to see what Mick Ward's up to nowadays. He's based around Benidorm in Spain, and with another Irish musician you can find them on a website called beforethestorm dot eu They're actually touring England and Scotland January and February, and I'll get to see them at Auchenlarie. Cheers

Ah, but no other ship of Calmac is loved more than LOTI, The Lord of the Isles! She can use all the piers on the West Coast, and has a hoist for the smaller piers! She is the old faithful of Calmac, a steady and reliable old girl! She is the one given the extra work, when all the other ferries breakdown! Often doing her own routes and the extra sailings as well! She is brilliant in a storm, and can handle seas that cause the others to remain in port! She made it to Barra and Lochboisdale in horrific weather, ensuring that the islanders were not suffering hardship due to the bad weather! She will be sadly missed, when Calmac decide that she has to be scrapped! It would be better, in my opinion, to keep her as an emergency vessel, to use when the others break down!..........old Tich.

Just to say, its unlikely that you were told about the ship stats when you were at work experience, seen as I did mine with CalMac as well and the stats were not a high priority. Caley Isles was largest when launched but was succeeded by Isle of Lewis.

@jimzvidz1 Why have you used Mise Éire by Sean Ó'Riada as your music? This is part of a symphony written in 1966 as part of the anniversary of the 1916 rising in Dublin. It is the music to the poem Mise Éire written by Pádraig Mac Piarais the leader of the rising. It means I am Ireland in the english language. It seems an odd choice for a Scottish video. Not complaining, purely curious...and 🤓 geeky!

Hi Tom, I met a man playing the music in Benidorm, his name escapes me now. I bought his CD and thought the track fitted the video. Us Celts keeping together ha ha. I must reread Maurice Walsh books again. My Scottish father put me on to him. Sorry it's taken a year to reply, I'm going to take more notice of comments on my clips from now on.
