I saw a Yashica GS in this video which was the first camera I owned in my last year in High School in 1970. It finally died in 1978 when a girlfriend insisted I bring it to the beach. That place looks awesome. I have a closet full of film cameras and lenses going back to the late 70’s.

I was at the Wolverhampton (UK) camera fair two weeks ago; I bought three Spotmatics, two fully working, for 15 pounds (17.5 euros, 19 US dollars). The Bievres camera fair just outside Paris is similar with the chance of filling carrier bags for a few euros. These sorts of deals can be had elsewhere, though this place seems fun.

The difference is that this place is open pretty much the whole time, unless they are restocking. 👍

You didn't mention the biggest issue with these cameras? Fungus. Lots and lots of fungus, the camera/lens killer! You'll never get rid of it and definately don't bring these into your home with other equipment. So good choice on a waterproof Konica, the sealing has (possibly) saved it!

Fungus is the less severe issue a lot of these cameras potentially have. I've been in tropical environments on a regular basis in the last 20 years and I had zero issues with fungus.

I was there two days ago, found a Yashica Electro Wide ccn. Also needed to search the battery door, finally found one including working Battery. After cleaning the view finder at home it is working perfectly!!! But prices were higher 2000 Baht with 10% off. @ Robin thanks for this Video , what a experience 😊😊😊

I'd never buy a camera there - they all have no body caps or lens caps so they'd all be full of crap. Secondly, with the high humidity in Bangers, they'd all be full of fungus. Oh Boy!

As someone who buys old lenses, my mind is blowing up trying to guess how many lenses in this place have mold or fungus.

No, Robin. You haven't seen anything until you've been to the Tsim Sha Tsui district of Hong Kong and all the used cameras from shops tucked away on the ground floors of some of the older buildings there. The far majority of the cameras you've shown in this place in Thailand are just old simple P&S, not really the old iconic game-changers of their eras. If you go to HK, you will be accosted by infinite pieces of iconic cameras (in good condition). Like brandname watches (old and new), there's a reason why Leica even for a short spell of time came into the ownership of a Hong Kong photographic film distributor - the photographic market in HK has always been the most vibrant (arguably matched only by Japan) in Asia, hands down. Go check it out.

This place isn't about pristine cameras and lenses and not comparable to normal camera shops. Ive been to many shops throughout Asia and haven't seen anything like this one.
