Two of my uncles lived on the same block as us. It really was a village raising kids. Now I live in a small town in Mexico and these neighborhoods are like the old days. Everyone knows each other and their kids. Kids can be mischievous without worrying about too serious repercussions because we know the parents.

First case doesn’t sit right with me… These women are all relieved upon hearing the paternity results. In their world, it’s better to have a child endure a fatherless lifetime, than to have determined that the surviving brother is actually the biological father.
