Man ole Joe out here sticking trout upstream in mountain waters 95% of anglers would never bother approaching,& the 5% that made it would just dead drift downstream thinking there's not enough room to cast...truly incredible skills,& spirit on display here.

Phenomenal man and love watching his videos. For once I found a point of his that I didn't agree with. Leading the rod through tight bush, I have to respectfully disagree. Have a lot of years albeit not as many as Joe tromping through tight bush up here in Northern Alberta, it is most always easier to guide the rod through the bush behind you, yes the line will sometimes snag and you always feel the tension right away and I've never had a guide snapped off or even remotely close. More often than not, if your body can pass, the rod can behind you, just simple rule of thumb I've taught my sons and grandsons. The other benefit being if you happen to fall, the rod is much safer behind you than out in front as you will automatically try break your fall with your hands and risk breaking your rod quite easily.

I had the honour of having lessons with Joe many years ago, learned so much about the stream, the fish and some life lessons too! It was intimidating as a female I must say but well worth the trip from Ontario, Canada!

Both my wife and I took Joes casting class at Penn State. What a great guy. I can't say enough about Joe.

Where does one get the fly box on his chest?

Not sure about the container holding the fly boxes but the boxes look like old perrine aluminum fly boxes, I have a few of them and they are awesome.

Probably not the best idea to wear a bright blue shirt in that environment.
