Incredible featurette including commentaries with the cast and crew. This truly based on a real true story that took place in Claremont CA in 1999 when things tragically blew into a deep curve. A good 15 year old boy was gunned down by some people whom never had the chance to enjoy life or some case had a good and enjoyable but was missing out so much when his life was erupted by deep trouble, setups and so much more. Something that we see today in our community and what can be prevented on a day to day basis. Too many of our young people are dying or end up the wrong side of the wrong movement or place at the same time. I hope to God that all of us can learn something from this and what can we encourage our nation. So far a wonderful movie and a great in depth researchable detail on what happened.

This really is an amazing movie! You know I really wish that the boy just ran away on time, in real life and in the movie. In fact when whoever the guy I forgot his name is played by Justin told the kid to go and buy ciggerettes while he was on the couch, he should've told him then there what was about to become of him, before he was told by the other guy that it was either life or kill him! I'm bad with names but never forget faces, ever! Especially life events!

David Bojilov same question I kept asking why didn't Justin just tell him to go on the bus and go home because they are gonna kill u, but then it could be because they brainwashed Justin saying ur looking at life so maybe he took it aboard and didn't wanna risk telling him who knows? I hate when movies do that, they will tell them not to do this or that or do this or that to get out of a problem but never tell them why they are telling them

Yup it sure did. It's like the movie Bully but in California. A movie about an absolute senseless horrible tragedy involving ignorance you who exhibited a mindless pack mentality regarding an issue that could have been handled so much differently. Its almost too upsetting to watch. In fact the only reason I will or have watched either movie more than once is to if anything, pay tribute to the departed or to the young Dustin Moskowitz if I got that right. Bobby Kent on the other hand was sadistic bully. He didn't deserve death of course.

That's a good question, imagine someone took the opportunity to save this poor little kid whom never had the chance to live long enough or the power to enjoy the life he wanted plus explore so many things. Had he not been killed, he would still be here today. Again it's still a shame to see this kind of tragedy will end up.

My character in the film was played by Chris Marquette. I don't think the movie should be taken as a reflection of what actually happened. It is, fundamentally, a caricature of the life we all lived. And that life was much more complicated.

These comments by the actors and crew sum up what's wrong in America perfectly! "In reality theyre just kids", they're in their early to mid twenties. I tend to agree they are misguided kids. Here's the problem you could literally knock a decade off their age and darken their skin and it would be a different story. Unfortunately a 13yo black boy is looked at as a man and treated harshly. Maybe not by some woke Hollywood actor but definetly by American juries. Our justice system is broken, it's too harsh on everyone of every color but to black and brown folks especially! In fact I'd call our criminal justice system CRIMINAL. Unless you're a white sex offender, for some reason they get all the fucking chances.

I honestly feel like well the way I've watched or read about this case that Nick whom got murdered if they would've just let him go he wouldn't have said shit. Well at least he would'nt had told people that would make these boy kidnappers get in any type of trouble. Most killings are ridiculous $1,200 debt for a life doesn't make any type of since what so ever. Very... very... Sad what happened here.

I found the story intriguing. The movie has a couple of scenes full of overheating which would take you out of it, but otherwise, it was pretty good. It reminded me of Larry Clark's Bully. I am sorry, Sharron Stone may look like A list actress, but the woman can't act. The movie feels weird quite frankly because the situation is quite weird.

It was an AMAZING film. But I don't think they should make money off of something like this. I mean the murderers only feel better that these events were put into film. That they are that important.
@jessicatran9201
@jessicatran9201 10 жыл бұрын
i do not think that is the point, then what is the point of having movies based on true stories. they also used different names so i dont see how it makes them feel more important, the kidnappers and killers were already wanted.
@MsLolavieinParis
@MsLolavieinParis 10 жыл бұрын
Yeah I think it can be taken in many ways though. For me that's kind of it, I mean for the main killer it only makes them proud to have their story told too. They aren't even sorry about it in real life, and no matter if they changed the names on the movie or not people know who they are. But in another way it pays respect to the victim too. Still those guys shouldn't even be known about. Or it can even be in a way that the public can learn from.
