A Lecture delivered by CH Spurgeon.
Spurgeon’s personal library consisted of over 12,000 books. Many were rare folio Puritan and other works. Here he takes us on a tour of his commentaries. He is outspoken and objective as he weighs the pros and cons of each. He makes the point early on that we should take an interest in these books. He says: "It seems odd, that certain men who talk so much of what the Holy Spirit reveals to themselves, should think so little of what he has revealed to others."

Thank you for doing these lectures!!! I am not a preacher, but I have Matthew Henry's 6-volume commentary and it is STUNNING! Just started daily studying it about a year ago. The way he opens up the Word to understanding, citing so many different books of the Bible that support what he is saying is just amazing! Plus he is insightful and funny and also gives other peoples' interpretations and reasonings as well. Truly a treasure. Will have to take notes on this lecture too to find more of these holy teachers! Thanks again ❤❤❤🙏🏽

Thank you for your comments. I think Matthew Henry is excellent too. He grew up familiar with the Word of God, since his father, Philip Henry, was a distinguished Puritan. God bless. Gavin

O yes, Matthew Henry' s books are a real treasure for sure. I'm reading them often. In the 3 volume series of C.H.Spurgeon The treasure of David, you will find, in note on verses, a lot of names he used to write this wonderful series. I'm reading them as well as often as posible. A great blessing!
