Growing up, my mom and I used to go on these really long walks to get a chance to talk together. We called them "walkie talkies." I've had a lot of thoughts on my mind about seasonal depression lately, so I thought I'd try taking you guys out for a walkie talkie and have a little chat together.
(I am, admittedly, new to the vlogging format, but this is a subject that I feel strongly about and I've wanted to explore this medium for a while, so now's the time to try it. Bear with me as I work my way through the production learning curve.)

Anna Park Oh you are the sweetest! Thank you so much for your kindness and support! I'm glad to hear it's landing well with people-I'm following what resonates with me, but I don't really know what I'm doing here so it all feels like a bit of a gamble, haha.

How do you cuddle up and read a book without your kids interrupting? Do you take your kids up to the mountains by yourself? Seasonal depression is one of the reasons I couldn't wait to move out of UT after college. It took a lot of convincing to move back up here again. I love your perspective!

The only time cuddling up and reading works is when my kids are sleeping, haha. I don't always do it, but generally I think it's worth waking up before they do. When I wake up with them I start off feeling like my day is out of control and that feeling just spirals all day long. Even 20 minutes is enough to create some positive momentum for the rest of the day. And yes, I go up to the mountains with my kids by myself! We usually stick to the more popular areas where I'm pretty confident I could flag down some help if we needed it, and I try to make sure we have cell service in case of emergencies, but it's been a lifesaver to just get out and go!
