When I went to Greece for 6 weeks in 2011, I reufused to let my mom buy me a Kindle. I literally took a backpack full of books as my carry on... regretted it and asked her to buy me a Kindle right after!! ❤❤❤

My sister and I went to Italy together in July for 10 days, we are both BIG readers and own kindles. We both took our kindles and still took about 10 physical books between us 😆 Taking part of ones library on holiday is an essential part of the holiday! As is desperately cramming them into your carry on because your checked baggage is now overweight.

naah you haven't bullied us to read Lady of Darkness, you've only been very persuasive and convincing when talking about it with so much excitement, it's contagious 😂😘🖤I'm so excited to get to the third book in that series, and also Faebound, Daughter of Smoke and Bone, House of Flame and Shadow... aaah my February TBR is also very ambitious but excitingggg 🧡

Ashleigh, I have a book recommendation for you. Vox by Katherine Silva. I know it's on the Kindle if you can't get a physical copy. It's the first book in the Monstrum Chronicles. It deals with humans and lilitu (aka vampires with a twist). I'm on the second book now. There is a long list of trigger warnings in each book.

I read "Daughter of Smoke and Bone" last year, and had mixed feelings. I loved the first half, but the second half was....meh. Still, I'm hoping since that second-half is out of the way, the second book is better. I read a Carissa Broadbent novel for the first time in January ("The Serpent and the Wings of Night") and now I need to read all her others because yes, give me that late 90s, early 2000s dark, edgy, vampire/supernatural, Underworld vibe! Rather than reading romance in February, I'm going to be reading books written by Black authors, some new books and some classics.

I honestly haven’t read much in January. I’ve finished two books and I’m in the middle of at least ten. One I’m really enjoying is Ravens of Unresting Thought which is a mixed media story that combines photography, collage, short stories, poetry, and painting with Native American folklore. It’s so good.

I hope you like The Tempest of Tea! I had an e-ARC and read half of it before I gave up. Super disappointed in it- it was just super bland and nothing about it grabbed and held my attention. Hopefully it is better for you
