That Z scale Minitrain 1/220 was made by DeAgostini. They made a lot more Minitrain 1/220 models of trains from all over the world like the Golden Arrow, Shinkansen, Trans-Siberian, and Mallard. They also had a OO/HO scale series of display locomotives, a Large scale D51 brass kit, and other collectible models and toys as magazine subscriptions.

I keep thinking you should create a universal coupler for trains. Maybe you could design one by April 1st.

Crazy to think that i have this. Same model, same box. Its from a series of trains sold with papers and a little booklet. Like the great british steam engines magazine series that had models with as well. I got my minitrains orient express for my 7th birthday in 2013.😅

Just quickly checking the Z scale, lol. Did you know that the smallest model trains are in T-gauge (1:450 / 1:480)? Originally introduced in Hong Kong but on sale in Germany as well these days with loads of choices. Stuff smaller than your fingers and not looking too bad actually 🤣

Hi. I went to Bolton in February, love a charity shop rummage and saw about 20-30 of the “Z” scale sets in one shop. Around five different sets, not yet priced to sell as they wanted to find their value. Did say it was Chinese tat, demonstration purposes only. Maybe £5-10 at most. But they just looked similar to a CD special edition box set until opened!

Great stream here Sam, I have one of those z scale sets the one I have is the flying Scotsman which came with the loco and tender and two teak coaches, mine like yours came in the same style of packaging so from the looks of it the one you have will be from the collection that Atlas editions did these z scale models for, this is most likely either a well known train or locomotive because the collection from what I remember the collection had locomotives like Mallard.

i have a few of those z gauge trains and in my opinion i think they are pretty cool!

I have several of these static display models. But I do have a working z scale set of a Japanese bullet train.

Thank you Sam, Sorry to see El Cheapo get Ripped Off like that. Real Z Scale trains are like Jewelry very fine and expensive. I've seen sets start around $400-$500 maybe even more now.
